Jennifer Watson was a city girl born and raised. her mother had been the owner of a small bookstore down in queens. Jennifer and her mother had lived in the small flat above it for as long as she can remember. Until the day her life changed for ever. her mother had been a very determined girl. headstrong and stubborn. and she had passed those traits onto her daughter. not even her chief at the precinct could stop her if she got it into her head to do something. unfortunately, like her mother she had no patience for paperwork. even more unfortunately being a homicide detective, she seemed to do a lot of it.
"ugh" she groaned banging her head against the worn wooden desk. "I HATE paperwork" groaned the blonde 20 year old. a loud hearty laugh came from the man sitting at the desk opposite. "everyone does. if you didn't want to do paperwork then you shouldn't have become a detective." the blonde groaned again. jennifer watson was quite an attractive young lady and had she wanted to could have easily become a model. however thankfully for the sake of Scarlet and much of new york she was not a 'dumb blonde' and had ditched modeling as a career choice long ago. but despite the smart suit and no nonsense ponytail. jennifer had a sharp mouth and a great sense of humour. the man opposite her was her (trainer sounds incorrect any suggestions? supervising officer?). and the only reason she hadn't quit 10 times already.
" excuse me" snarked a voice from behind jennifer. she jumped up and turned around giving the woman behind her best innocent look. but just by looking at this woman you could tell she wasn't going to buy it. she was the teacher from hell on steroids. tall slender frame. cold brown almost black eyes. and black hair pulled back in a severe bun so tight it looked like her face was being pulled apart. she loomed over jennifers small 5'4 frame. her opposite in every way. where she was cold. jennifer was walm. where she was strict and pretty much a general kill joy. jennifer was bubbly and active. "yes captain?" she asked innocently. captain richards was the second youngest police officer to qualify. jennifer had beat her by 2 months and the captain deeply resented her for it. "got another one for you, pretty open shut case. suicide just need you to verify it" said the captain. handing her a slim file. And smirked. Jennifer nodded meekly. she hated suicides.
