- WOULD IT HAVE BEEN BETTER?

I sit alone at my desk all day wondering if it all was worth it. The world isn't the same anymore, at least in my eyes. I don't seem to be getting any better, I dream of it every night despite knowing it wouldn't help me get past it.

I always wonder if we are doing alright despite us frequently sending letters to one another. It's getting worse and I don't know how much longer I can take it.

All I need is you by my side.

Our walk to Count Orloks office was long yet it was so chaotic, Vanitas wouldn't stop bothering Noé, which gathered the attention of civilians who happen to be passing by. I don't know how it works between the two, I just happened to be tasked to join them in this journey, though I wish it would've been over already.

After what seemed to be forever of a headache, we finally arrived at Count Orloks office. I was going to knock until Vanitas just opened the door as if he owned the place. "Alright Orlok, happy now? You've added another pain in the back!" Vanitas shouted at Orlok, in which his servants didn't seem too pleased. "How dare you say that?!" "You show no bounds!?" the servants argued back.

I made my way to Orloks desk, resting my hands on the flat surface. "Orlok, my mission has now started, is there anything I should know before I go on the most unfortunate journey of my life?" I fakely smile at Orlok, clearly showing my hatred.

"The light haired one is Noé Archiviste, I assume you've heard that last name, no?" My eyes widened once i've heard that name. 'An Archiviste?! No way.. that guys a danger, no good.' I've completely underestimated Noé's capabilities, assuming he was just a simple vampire.

"Sir.. Can't an Archiviste dive into someone's memories..." I had to double check. There was no way in hell I was going to let information like that slip away. "Indeed they can, by drinking someone's blood, they can visit memories of the person, any one of them as they please." Orlok responded to me with utmost formality.

"Shit."
I looked at Noé, staring him down as he was holding Vanitas away from the servants so they wouldn't get into physical combat. "And what about the blue boy." I asked Orlok, motioning to the demonic face of Vanitas. "He is the holder of The book of Vanitas, we've allowed him to use these powerful book to bring back the peace Paris had before the Charlaton attacks." He said calmly, looking at my shocked face.

These two were no joke, they were the shit. I turned to them like a heavy door opening. I honestly didn't expect them to be two powerful people with abilities, in full honesty, I wasn't much different either, only difference is was that I wasn't a complete jerk like Vanitas or an oblivious airhead like Noé.
