- WHERE IT ALL STARTED. - - -IS IT A DREAM?
Not a second goes by where I'm not thinking "what am I doing?" and "where did I go wrong?" This is the story about us, me and you. I live in my memories thinking of all the times I messed up or where I did things right. But was there anything right? Would it have ended differently if only I did things right?
It started back when the Charlatan phenomena occurred. Where things weren't simple but seemed so easy, back when I was truly happen. Back when you were truly happy.
Back when we were happy.

Chapter 1; where I was.
Newspapers and word spread about there being an outbreak of Vampires on the loose. It was said that vampires went out of the way to drink the blood of others, regardless if it was secret or not. It would occur in public, secret or anywhere else. It commonly occurred at night. People were fearful yet others were brave enough to go out at such a late time, though the streets of Paris would remain busy when day came to be.
"HELP! SOMEONE PLEASE!" a women yelled. She was frightened for her life. She had witnessed her husband having his life sucked out by a beast. It showed no sign of human behavior and clearly didn't look like one. She was next, she knew she was going to die. The beast's hand swept mid air to her direction, she expected bloodcurdling pain to her chest, but after 5 seconds of her eyes closed, it never happened. She heard a crash then she heard a soothing voice. "Are you okay, mademoiselle?"
A black haired male with a slim frame, eyes as blue as the calm ocean and it shined like blue sapphire. Mesmerized the lady was until a shout caught her attention. "WATCH OUT!" The black haired one was quick to lift the lady up and dodge the beast that was tossed to their direction. "Are you two okay?" a white haired one with shorter hair and tan skin asked. His eyes were like Amythyst, his eyes were bright and radiated compassion.
"Are you crazy?! You were about to scar this beautiful lady!" the black haired one shouted at the white haired one. "I told you guys to watch out..." "WE COULD'VE BEEN CRUSHED?" they spewed at each other for what felt like minutes. The two definitely were an interesting duo but it all just worked out in so many weird ways. The arguing stopped once something caught the shorter ones attention.
"Noé! Look out!" The beast charged at the three of them, ready to harm them then suck the blood from the pair. Noé being seconds away of being killed until something prevented it.
Noé fully turned around to see the beast, headless, blood dripping from its neck. It was on its knees before a force pushed it down. As it hit the ground, there stood a figure. "The two of you are coming with me." . . . .
"WE DIDN'T NEED YOUR HELP!"
"oh yeah? Then tell me where HE would be right now?!"
"He would've been perfectly fine!"
"With those senses? Yeah right!"
"Guys just stop..."
The two people stopped arguing just like that.
"Let's start from the beginning, shall we?" The figure from earlier spoke with a calm and organized tone. "Artemis. Commonly known as n/n here in Paris. I work under Count Orlok, I was tasked into joining you two on whatever adventure you are going on." n/n spoke. "We don't need extra assistance, I'm sure we are fine on our own, thank you." Sour words came out of the dark haired one.
"As much as me and you don't want to be here, unfortunately, I have to." You sighed, responding to him. "Let's make a deal, I do my job and you guys continue saving Paris?" Vanitas blankly stared at you. "We'll be leaving."
"You sure? You wouldn't want to be sent to jail for killing a civilian, now would you?" You looked at the dark haired one with a smug look on your face.
"That was your fault." He said
"And who's hands were on the creature?"
"... Fine."
"How fun."
There was tension between the two of you guys and it was clearly obvious. "An extra hand wouldn't be too bad! Just means we'd have an extra pair of eyes to be aware for us." Noé breaking the tension, clearly trying make it less uncomfortable. "At least he gets it." You huffed.
"We have to report to Count Orlok. We have to let him know that my task starts now, and from then on, I'm working with you guys.... Sadly." You were unfortunate enough to be tasked with the pair. They seemed like the type of people who would fight at a carnival. You were Artemis, in Count Orlok's eyes, you were the perfect piece to a puzzle game.
Nothing about your line of work was perfect and so were you. You lived to complete the job you've been put in, that's all you ever really knew.
"I'M leading the way." Vanitas stubbornly pushed past Noé to be in front, walking towards the exit of the alleyway, heading to Count Orlok's office.
You looked at Noé.
He looked at you back.
"So we'll be working together?"
"I suppose."
".."
"Don't die on me."
"Understood."
