I'm sitting outside as recess, playing with the sticks and leaves alone because no one wants to talk to me. I'm wearing my pretty pink dress my mom got for me for my birthday this morning! Bur a girl threw mud at me...

Just then, I see my holder sister and her curly blonde hair, that looked like mine, running towards me.

"Hikari!! What happened?" She asks, she was so worried.

"I okay Akahana! Isla just didn't like my dress, she thinks it's ugly.." I try not to seem hurt by it.

"And how old is this Isla whore?" She asks angrily.

"8, just like me. Why?" I tilt my head slightly.

"Shit I'm 8 today too. Point her out." She demands, I slowly point to the girl. She had long brown light brown hair, dark blue eyes. She was gorgeous. I really wanted to be her, she was so popular and nice.

Akahana runs at her, punching her, kicking her, slapping her, pulling her hair. It was scary to see, this poor girl's blood all over my older sister's new blue dress. A teacher runs over, breaking it up.

"Kaminari, principal, now!" The teacher says, pointing to the school. Akahana flips her off and walks over to me, picking me up. She carries me out and takes me for ice cream.

It's really hard to be scared when you're eating your favorite flavor ice cream with your favorite sister. She puts some of her ice cream on my nose and we have a ice cream fight.

But when we get home, mamá is mad. Really mad.

"Qué estabas pensando?? Qué??" She yells, throwing the house phone at us. "Atacaste a una niña, ¡puedes ir al cárcel!!"

Akahana sighs and runs upstairs, I follow her. She seems so sad.. I have to cheer her up.

"Akahana! Akahana! Wanna play dress up?" I ask excitedly. But the answer is quick amd simple.

"No, Kari. Can you just.. leave...?" She asks, I can tell she feels terrible asking. So I nod and go to clime out the window. "Hikari no!" She yells, pulling my legs back quickly but gently.

"Why not?" I tilt my head softly. Why can't I leave now? I thought I was doing what she said...

"Hikari, you can't jump off the second floor. I shouldn't have told you to leave, I'm sorry Kari..." She seems so sad... I hug her tightly.

"Is okay Aka!" I hum while hugging her happily. I really love my sister, she's always there for me.

"Now, don't go downstairs, okay Kari?" She says while kissing the top of my head. I just nod softly. I know exactly why I can't.

"Hikari! Akahana! Chiyo! Kaito!" I hear my mom yell me and my siblings' names. We all go downstairs. Birthdays are kinda big in my family, so they're always celebrated. No matter how mad my mom is at us. But my dad doesn't really care, my dad is Japanese. He named all of us, my mom is Hispanic. She wanted to name us but my dad thought that traditional Hispanic names were ugly.

My mom and dad are sitting at the table, waiting for us. I sit down at the head of the table, where dad usually sits. He scoffs, annoyed. But my mom kicks him under the table and sings happy birthday to me.

"Cumpleaños feliz! Cumpleaños feliz! Te deseamos a ti! Feliz cumpleaños querida Hikari! Cumpleaños feliz!" They all sing, I I'm very embarrassed. I hate when people sing happy birthday to me. It's so embarrassing.

"Te doy un regalo," My mom says as she hands me a small box. I open it, there's a pretty tiara inside. It's gorgeous. I hug her tightly.

"Gracias mucho, mamá!" I say happily.

"Tenemos un regalo para ti también!" Akahana says, handing me a small box. It has pretty bows and ribbons and lace inside it. I hug her tightly too.

"Thank you!!" I yell, smiling brightly. My mom smacks my head.

"Hablas en español para su hermana, Hikari." She says angrily. I sigh and nod slowly.

"Lo siento mamá.." I say, looking down. She nods then points upstairs. We all go back upstairs, me, Akahana, and Chiyo all share a room because we're all girls. Kaito gets his own room.

I'm the youngest of my 4 siblings, Akahana is the oldest. She's 13, then Kaito being 12, then Chiyo being 10.

Akahana looks at me and smiles happily, "I can't believe you're already 8! You're making me feel so old!" She says dramatically, plopping down on her bed and letting her tongue hang out of her mouth like she's dead. I giggle and smile.

"I'm basically a adult now!" I say giggling as I plop down on the floor, also pretending to be dead. Then Chiyo walks in, she used to be real nice but now she doesn't put up with anything because something called a period I think. Last time I check that's how you end a sentence but okay.

"What are you weirdos doing now?" Chiyo asks, rolling her eyes.

"Oh relax! We're just having fun, besides, it's Hikari's birthday. Be nice to her." Akahana says, definitely momming Chiyo.

Chiyo Rolla her eyes again, "Whatever.." She says, getting into her bed. "It's getting late, we should all go to bed.

"That's a good idea," Akahana says. But I whine and cross my arms.

     "But I don't wanna!" I say pouting.

"Hikari, you're a big girl now, big girls don't cry and throw a fit at bed time. Now go to sleep. I'll be right here in the morning, okay?" Akahana hums.

I sigh dramatically, getting into my bed. "Fineeeee!"

Akahana smiles amd kisses my forehead. "Buenas noches, Kari." She hums.

I smile as I slowly drift off to sleep.
