"We don't have an aunt, on our moms side anyway.", said Lily's eldest daughter, Beth. Emily stared them down and had a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Of course I'm your aunt. Are you saying she has never mentioned me to you!", screamed Emily. Kate, Lily's youngest child started to cry.

"Oh my, oh my my my. Im so sorry baby, I didn't mean to make you cry. Come here.", said Emily in such a soothing voice. Kate walked right over to Emily and collapsed on her lap. Beth looked at Emily and screamed "Kate get away from this demented woman! She doesn't know what she is talking about!"

Emily looked up at Beth and stooped stroking Kate's head. "Oh don't I Beth. If I weren't her sister how would I know her middle name is Wendy or how her maiden name is Tyler! How would I know her favorite color is rose red or how she loves turtles? How would I know any of that!", she once again yelled.

Kate gave another yelp and Emily comforted her. Beth was fed up with Emily and her act. "Kate let's go home." Beth turned to leave when she heard Kate say "No." Beth swung around and asked "Kate we have to go home mom will be wondering where we are." Beth stared at Kate and wondered why she would do this.

"I am not going to leave Aunt Emily. She takes better care of me than my mother does.", replied Kate. Beth was shocked. Kate was right, their mother never really did take very good care of them. Their father was there for most of their life. But there was still one thing Beth didn't understand. "What happened to you? Why were you never there for our mother?"

With that Emily told her version of what happened that fateful day. When she was done Beth looked at her and realized she hadn't noticed how pale Emily was and how she had a long bloody scar on her neck. "Kate let's go home and tell mom that Aunt Emily is still here". Beth said this in a very cautious voice. She didn't know who exactly Emily was. Was she her aunt? Beth tugged at Kate to go but Kate didn't budge. "Beth you can go get Mommy. I want to stay here with Auntie Emily.", said Kate. With that Beth came up with an idea. "How about Aunt Emily comes with us to see mom.", replied Beth. Kate looked up at Emily and smiled. Emily gazed upon her niece and smiled back. Emily would get to see her baby sister. The sister she left, years ago. And Emily was ready to face her once again.
