You caught Rhaenyra eyeing you as you fiddled with the melting wax of the candles. Alicent didn't notice as she stood and began muttering a prayer while lighting more candles. You held Rhaenyra's gaze until she smiled.

Suddenly you felt yourself giggling. It bubbled up inside you before you could stop it, making Rhaenyra break out into giggles as well. She quickly covered her mouth and turned away hoping to avoid the disapproving look Alicent shot her way that would surely only make the fit of laughter worse. Alicent said nothing as she gave you both rather hard stares while settling back between the pair of you, kneeling and leaning her elbows on the edge of the candle-covered pedestal. Her fingers twined together as her eyes shut and she began a new prayer. They snapped open again when you broke the cool silence that had followed you and Rhaenyra managed to gather your composure.

"You know the Septa said that isn't really Balerion's skull." You said while pointing at the dragon skull surrounded by candles. Rhaenyra scoffed and leaned forward so she could look at you past Alicent.

"It is real! What does the Speta know about dragons?... or anything for that matter." She said quickly and frowned at you as if you'd denounced Balerion's skull yourself. Alicent paused in her prayers and was quick to defend the Septa.

"Perhaps someone told her it was not real?" She offered up as her only defence for the Septa after some thought.

"No. She says she knows it is not real." You said quickly then you grinned and added. "But I know how to double-check!"

Alicent gasped while Rhaenyra grinned as they watched you hurry to your feet and climb up onto the pedestal and began carefully stepping between candles. You managed to put your hand on the skull before your skirts caught fire. Rhaenyra laughed as you flapped the fabric about trying to put it out only for the dress to catch somewhere else. Alicent called out for help and reached out over the flames for you, gripping your arm and yanking you down when you were close enough. She stamped on the burning fabric as Rhaenyra summoned a guard who found a pail of water and threw it over your feet to put out the smouldering embers that were still smoking the bottom of your dress While you and Rhaenyra started laughing and joking Alicent sighed, shaking her head as she stared at a loose clump of fabric still on the pedestal. As it burned into a small ember it drifted upwards with the heat of the fire before burning so small that she couldn't see it anymore.

"I hope you're pleased with yourselves. We could have all been killed." Alicent scolded as she checked your singed dress and your legs in case you needed a maester. By some miracle, you seemed fine but she would still demand a Maester for you. She pulled you both away from the candles in case you got any more ideas.
