GOLD RUSH- Shawn Hunter

Jackie walked through the high school halls on the first day back from summer vacation. Her newfound summer fling, Andrew, walking close next to her. She didn't mind him, they spend the summer together, Jackie's father was away on a business conference in Washington so she spend her break in Philadelphia where she grew quite fond of the new boy that moved there. Jackie could feel two pairs of eyes behind her but choose to ignore them and instead walked towards Topanga and Trini. "Hey guys!" She wrapped her arms around them. Andrew stood awkwardly next to them, not knowing what to do. The two girls greeted her back with smiled before stepping away from the hug.

"Who's that?" Trini asked pointing to the boy with them.

"Oh, right. That's Andrew, he's new to town." Jackie explained flashing a quick smile to Andrew.

"Hey." Andrew nodded and flashed a smile to the two girls. "I moved here from California."

"Oh, wow. That's a far way. How come?" Topanga asked. Unbeknownst to them Shawn and Cory were staring at them from the other side of the hall, sending glares towards Andrew.

"My fathers company made him relocate here, I wasn't to happy about it, but now it doesn't seem so bad anymore." Andrew answered, his stare shifting to Jackie. The dark haired girl blushed, she blushed very easily but didn't mind it most times. Her friends grinned and gazed to their friend.

Their conversation came to an end when the bell rang and they made their way into the classroom. Jackie made her way to her usual seat, next to Cory. Topanga was in front of Cory and Shawn behind him, Jackie only knew that because of Cory and Shawn's conversations which were way too loud most of the time that even she could overhear them. Andrew took a seat behind Jackie after Mr. Turner introduced him to the class. There were various of whispers after Andrew's introduction from different students.

They got an assignment handed to them by Topanga and Jackie couldn't help but overhear Cory trying to ask her out, but failing miserably. He ended up giving Topanga a thumbs up. Jackie turned to give Cory a dumbfounded expression when he looked to her after he sat back down.

"Why's he so nervous?" Andrew asked Jackie. She turned around and shrugged in response.

"Dunno, they have already kissed and yet he's still so nervous to ask her out." Jackie told him.

Andrew nodded, "Why don't you help them out?" When he saw the confused expression on Jackie's face he decided to elaborate a bit more, "Like, set them up or something. Plan something." Jackie's face then lit up, she had an idea. The dark haired girl then slowly turned her gaze towards Shawn, a mischievous grin on her face. Shawn's face looked scared.

"You're right." Jackie spoke to Andrew, but she didn't turn to look at him. She then stood up determined and took Shawn by the arm, excusing herself and him to Mr. Turner. She dragged him out in the school halls which were empty now.

"Jackie, what are you doing?" Shawn asked frantically.

She let go of her grip on his arm, "I have a plan to get Cory and Topanga together."

Jackie spend that evening at Chubbies with Andrew to eat dinner together. When Andrew excused himself to go to the restroom, Cory entered the restaurant and slid in the seat opposite of Jackie. "Oh, hey, what's up?" The girl greeted him taking a sip out of her milkshake.

"Hi, Jackie." Cory said, he seemed nervous. "I was thinking, do you wanna go to the movies with me on Friday?"

Jackie did her hardest not to grin, everything was going according to plan. "Oh, Cory." A faux sad, doleful expression washed over her face. "Um, Andrew already asked me."

"Oh." Cory didn't exactly look sad, more disappointed.

"But I know that Trini's free this Friday, she'd be more than happy to go out with you, Cory." Jackie tried her best not to look satisfied. Then she saw Andrew get back from the bathroom, he made his way to the table.

"Hi, Cory, right? How you doing?" Andrew tried to intimidate Cory and apparently in worked since Cory quickly excused himself and left the restaurant.

"So?" Andrew sat down where Cory previously sat down at.

"It worked!" Jackie shrieked a wide grin on her face. "He's gonna ask out Trini." She high fived him.

Jackie and Andrew took their seats behind Shawn, Topanga, Cory and Trini. These were the perfect seats for the show- which wouldn't be the movie.

"Hi, Cory. Hi, Trini. I like your hair." Topanga said.

"Oh, Thanks." Cory answered to the compliment which so obviously was for Trini, Jackie facepalmed.

Shawn laughed at his best friend, "I think she meant Trini, Cor."

"Hey you wanna step outside?" Cory leaned over Topanga, his finger pointed at Shawn. Andrew pulled the curly headed boy back and the curtains opened just in time.

Shawn put his arm over Topanga's shoulders and Jackie could see the clearly annoyed expression on Cory's face. He muttered something to himself before mirroring Shawn's actions and putting his arm over Trini's shoulders, but when he did it he accidently pulled down Trini's headband. As Shawn and Topanga pulled together closer, Cory stared in envy, he turned to Trini and saw her put on red lipstick on her lips, whilst Shawn freshened his breath by taking some TicTac's. Cory was determined to kiss his date first, he leaned in, but instead of meeting Trini's lips, he met her pink bubble-gum bubble. Pop!

When the cartoon ended Eric came on stage to say a few words, "Hey! How about that coyote? What a moron, huh? All right! Well, on behalf of the film society and their friends..." He pointed to Joey and Frankie in the back. "We would like to thank you all for responding to the underground invitations stuffed in your lockers. And now. Here to introduce Leon's revenge, the man you've all been waiting for. He played Lean the Gutsucker in parts 1, 3 and 4. Here he is, direct from the pits of hell, your worst nightmare." Eric started to clap, then the light dimmed. But when the curtains opened again, Mr. Feeny was standing there with a flashlight pointed upwards.

"Boo."

There were various yells from across the theatre and people were running out. Jackie, Andrew, Trini and Shawn were waiting outside of the room. Topanga and Cory were the only two students left inside and everything was going according to Jackie's plan. They peeked through the window of the door a few times and when they finally saw them kiss the four of them decided to make their way inside, clapping.

"Man it's about time." Shawn said.

"You're lucky this whole thing worked Hunter." Trini said. "I almost had to kiss you." She gazed to Cory.

"Well, actually it was Jackie's idea." Shawn made clear. "So you guys gotta thank her." He told the new couple.

"Thanks, Shawn. It feels weird without a sneaky comment." Jackie sounded surprised. He answered with a smile.

Cory then took the both of them by the arm, "Come here." He sounded angry at first. He pulled them into the corner of the room and then stayed still for a moment. Jackie shared a look with Shawn, not knowing whether they should run away or not. "Oh, Thank you!" He wrapped his arms around them into a desperate hug, Jackie chuckled.

"Now go back there, you little sea monkey." Shawn send him back. The two of them stayed in the corner for a moment longer.

"You know you could've acted a lot better out there." Jackie said sarcastically, the corners of her mouth twitching up. Shawn rolled his eyes but he couldn't hide the smile forming on his face.
