Jackie walked past her locker when suddenly someone pulled her to the side. It was Topanga. "God, you scared me. What's up?"
"Cory told me he loves me."
After those words left Topanga's mouth Jackie gasped in shock and horror. Her jaw was on the floor. "No way! Really?"
"Mhm-hm." Topanga nodded her head. She looked very uncomfortable and anxious.
"What an idiot!" Jackie said loudly, some students turned around to look at her. She then cringed and quietened down again. "How'd you answer?"
"I didn't. Well, I did. I asked him if we could go now." Topanga explained hastily. Jackie's eyes widened, she didn't reply which made Topanga even more anxious. "Well, damn, Jackie what am I supposed to do now?!"
"Right, um. Avoid him, for now. You don't want him to get the idea that everything's good between you." Jackie answered, that's what she always did.
Topanga nodded, she didn't know what to do and Jackie seemed to have enough experience to know what she's talking about. "Okay. That seems about right." She said trying to convince herself.
"Topanga, calm down. Everything will be okay." Jackie put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Jackie!" The dark haired girl heard someone calling her from across the hall. She was on her way to the cafeteria for lunch. Jackie turned around and saw Topanga walking towards her, she had an unreadable expression on her face. Topanga pulled Jackie to the side so they wouldn't be in the way and also so that no one would hear them. "I really want to talk to him."
"So give him a note." Jackie answered nonchalantly.
Topanga looked at her in pure confusion, "But I thought you said to avoid him?"
"Yeah, for a while and apparently this is "a while" for you, so send him a note saying that you wanna talk." Jackie answered, she then took out a pink sticky note from her backpack and handed it to Topanga with a pen.
"Huh." Topanga said thoughtfully.

After Cory got the note from Topanga she asked him to talk again, but this time in person. Jackie sat at a free table waiting for Topanga, she was too busy helping Topanga to sit by her usual table. Suddenly Shawn took the free seat next to her. He looked awfully happy which was weird considering what was happening with his best friend and her best friend right at the moment. "Why do you look so happy right now?"
Shawn laughed, "What do you mean?"
"Topanga and Cory are breaking up, all my hard work was for nothing." Jackie answered, she was disappointed and couldn't believe it. But she also knew that if she wanted Topanga to get that her and Cory are literally perfect for each other she'll need a quick little break.
