''Spaghetti is my favorite meal from Switzerland.'' Rain said sarcastically, after he ate the spaghetti, that was in fact, from Italy, not from Switzerland. Since we were in his room, he had been acting a lot less nervous. Maybe he was acting nervous before because it was true what he said. Or maybe it wasn't. Or maybe I was overthinking it.
''Was the spaghetti good?'' I asked. We were sitting on his bed while Rain was playing some simple basslines. It was quite hot in his room, so he had taken his mask off. His dark brown hair was still a bit messy from being in the mask all day. Somewhere between his messy hair were 2 black horns poking out. I didn't see him without his mask off that often, but I loved the rare moments when he didn't wear his mask.
''Yes, the spaghetti was delicious.'' He replied, still playing his bass. ''But I'd rather eat you out.''
''Rain!'' I yelled, while I quickly grabbed his pillow from his bed and hit him with it. Rain put his black bass back into its standard. ''I'm sorry!'' His cheeks turned red when he stole his pillow back from me. The shy ghoul who got embarrassed after making a sex joke was back. I tried to hold onto the pillow, but Rain was simply too strong for me. ''Don't be sorry, you cutie.'' I said, while I tried getting the pillow back from him.
''Fuck the pillow.'' He said, as he tossed it to the other side of the room. ''You think I'm cute, hm?'' He grabbed both of my wrists and pinned me down on the bed while he laid on top of me. ''I'll show you that I can be more than just cute.''
He started to kiss me aggressively. Not just on my lips, but also on my face and my ears, he slowly made his way down to my neck. Eventually he stopped when he reached my breasts. He let go of my wrists to take his shirt off.
What if he did do it? Would I be comfortable having sex with a criminal? I wanted him. But I wouldn't want him if he was the one who did it. Satan, my body wanted him so badly. But my mind kept distracting me.
He continued to roughly kiss me on my mouth. He was heavily breathing as he stroked my inner thigh. My mind kept distracting me from the moment as his hand slowly went upwards, underneath my skirt.
Maybe it wasn't him. What if it was Cobra? That would make sense, maybe he needed the money to pay his grandma's medical bills. That would mean that Rain is innocent. Rain didn't want Cobra to be around him, he always acted uncomfortable whenever he was around us.
Rain pulled my skirt up so that he could have a better look at what he was doing. I could feel his warm breath as he pressed kisses on my belly, slowly making his way down. His hands were touching my panties, ready to pull them down.
Then it suddenly hit me. It would make perfect sense for Rain to have stolen my key. He would absolutely do it just to help Cobra's grandma pay for her medical bills. He wanted to help Cobra's grandma because he couldn't help his own.
''Rain, stop.'' Rain immediately stopped with what he was doing. ''Sorry, I- I should have asked you for consent first and-'' ''No, it's alright. I just remembered that uhm, Roy is going to be here in just a minute.'' Rain climbed off of me and sat up straight on his bed. ''Roy? Why?'' He was clearly disappointed that we didn't continue with what we were doing. ''Because he has to take your measurements for the new ghoul clothing.'' Rain furrowed his eyebrows. ''Then why didn't he tell me? I didn't know that we needed new clothing.'' ''He-he said that-'' I stuttered. ''He said that he'd been looking for you all over the place but he couldn't find you and his phone died and-'' Rain looked deep into my eyes. ''Eve, for someone who has literally been a spy, you are a terrible liar, did you know that?''
My heart stopped beating for a second. ''I'm not lying.'' I lied. ''Oh, would you look at that! Swiss is texting me!'' Rain was immediately distracted from my lies by my new lie. I grabbed my phone and quickly texted Roy that he had to come to Rain's room immediately and that it was an emergency. ''Why Swiss again? What does he want from you?'' Rain asked with a jealous tone in his voice while he put his shirt and mask back on. ''Oh, nothing.'' I said. ''He finally admitted that Italy and Switzerland are different countries.'' Rain laughed. ''Impossible! Let me see!''
Fuck, I couldn't show him text messages that were never there in the first place. Without thinking, I tossed my phone onto the ground, leaving a big burst in the middle of the screen. ''Oops! I let it fall! Looks like Roy isn't the only one who is in need of a new phone!''
Rain looked confused, but just when he opened his mouth to say something, Roy bursted into the room without knocking first. It was clear that he came here running, he was heavily breathing and his neon green hair that was usually always perfect in place got messy.
''Rain, my buddy! I called you but you didn't pick up!'' ''I thought your phone died.'' Rain said with a dry tone in his voice. Roy awkwardly clicked his tongue. ''Uh, right, yes. It died. But then I got a new one! So, are you coming?''
Rain looked at me for a second, and then he looked back at Roy. He had planned to let someone else come tonight.
''Yes, sure. I'll be right back Eve.'' He pressed a kiss on my forehead before he got up and walked out of the room with Roy.
Great, I was finally alone. Time to look for my key. I got up from Rain's bed, wondering where he would hide the key if he had stolen it. Maybe under his bed? I got on my knees to look there, but besides my broken phone, there wasn't anything. Maybe the drawer in his desk? I opened it up, only to be disappointed once again.
I looked around the room. There had got to be a better place. Somewhere the other ghouls wouldn't want to look when they were visiting Rain. My eyes landed upon his bookcase. I quickly began opening every single book he owned. This time I wasn't wrong. Somewhere in the middle of a dusty old book was a key hidden.
It was my key to Papa's bedroom.
