**Prologue**
I sit back onto the school bus and wait for it to drop me off to a place where no teenager wants to be; school. People pull hair and some even read. It's High School for crying out loud, we could at least set a fire on this bus or watch a kid jump and land safely out the window. That's something I'd pay to see.
A kid whispers. I know he's whispering about me. I just know it. They look over and give me a disgusted look.
The bus stops at a red light. Each day we stop at that damn red light, it's constantly red. Or they have it set to where we're always late to school. Either or.
Another kid pulls on my ear, almost pulling out my gauge. I wince and whimper in pain, they sigh. "When will you ever talk? You're always so... silent." The girl scoffs. I set my gauge back in place and continue to stare out the window.
I ignore her hurtful words.
I know her, she's Lauren Elden. She and I used to be best friends back in 9th grade. Hence the used to. Something happened that night. I will definitely never get that night out of my head.
The yellow demon stops for the last time to drop us off at Hell. Lauren shakes her head and gets up neatly and properly. We wouldn't want to mess up that little skirt, now would we?
I can't wait to get out here; just tomorrow morning. It's happening tomorrow morning at 8, 8 in the morning. I'll wake up at 6 if I have to. I just want to leave.
Lauren and her posse shoot me another dagger and walk away.
They judge me, everybody does, but they don't know the battle going on in my mind right now.
