(Hanni's School)
"100 marks - Yoo Hanni"
the teacher announced
the whole class clapped and cheered
"Wow! Daebak!"
"Good job Hanni!"
"You deserve it, Hanni!"
her classmates congratulated her after having a great oration speech on their English subject and receiving a 100 mark on her project
"Aaaa kahamsamnida!"
she could not believe it.
She just crammed but it still ended well.
"Why are you so gifted?"
some of her classmates asked
"I really don't know either"
she humbly said
She happily went to Yeji at the library on her break time and reported the good news
"See? I told you. Congratulations Hanni genius!"
Yeji said while arranging some books on the shelves
"I can't believe it unnie!"
"For years it has always been that way Hanni- you cram and cry yet still end up passing - sometimes, above average or even perfect marks. I don't know why I'm still surprised"
Hanni embraced her
"By the way unnie, I told omma and halmoni about having new interests and discovering my talents just like you told me"
"Really? What did they say?"
"They were surprised as expected. Shocked even. Grandma said she only saw me danced when I was little way back and no more. She is right. Mom said she'll support me only if I really want it."
"You are so blessed to have a supportive family. So ...have you discovered it?"
"Huh? Discovered what?"
"Your talents?"
"Uhm...not yet."
The school bell rang and Hanni went back to her class.
On her break time in the afternoon her class went into the field and had thier free time to do whatever they want. Some played sports, some just chatted and ate snacks on the grass and some where playing instruments. Hanni was curious when a classmate got a recorder out of her bag.
"Is it difficult to learn?"
she asked her classmate
"What?"
"Is it difficult to learn to play the recorder?"
"Ahh.. No. You can definitely do this.
You want to try?"
"Yes! Thank you"
Her classmate taught her how to play the recorder (or flute to some) and you can guess it...she is a fast learner! She learned very well starting off from simple children's songs and to the formal songs.
"Wow Hanni there is nothing that you can't do!"
They laughed and played some more music. She quite enjoyed it.
When she got home she excitingly reported to her mom and grandma that she learned a new skill.
"Omma! Halmoni!"
"Someone's very perky today"
her grandma said
"I got two good news for you guys!"
"Ooh jjin jja? What's that?"
her mom curiously asked while feeding their dogs
