WHITE SAGE
This is the best known smudge plant. It works well to alter the energy in a room, purifying and cleansing a space.
Although it is a closed practice
White sage is sacred to some Native American practices and due to over harvesting, the plant is endangered. When possible see alternative herbs
Garden or Green Sage is a good alternative
Please DO NOT use White Sage

Angelica- protection, healing, Harmony, courage. Element air
Apple- garden magic, love, healing, wisdom, vanity, marriage, beauty. Associated with mabon and Samhain. Element water
Ash- spells relating to the sea, protection, luck. Element water
Banana- fertility and strength
Basil- also called witches herb. Use in spells for love, luck, prosperity, wealth, sympathy, protection. Associated with Imbloc. Element fire.
Bay leaf- protection, success, purification, strength, wisdom, healing, increases psychic powers. Element fire
Beech- happiness, inspiration, divination. Element air
Belladonna- also known as deadly nightshade. Toxic. Use for forgetting past loved ones, protection, beauty, Aids energy rituals. Element water
Bergamot- money, prosperity, sleep. Protection from evil and illness. Good luck, wealth, increase magical power. Element fire
Birch- protection, purification. dispels lightning, infertility, and evil eye. Associated with yule. Element water
Blackberry- prosperity, abundance, protection
Black pepper- banishing negativity, protection, inner strength. Element fire
Black salt/ witches salt- protection and cleaning
