" Yes, We believe someone tried to kill you." I choke out a laugh, Kill me? Why would anyone do that? that's absurd. I can't even process this "Have you remembered anything? before you arrive at this hospital?" I close my eyes.

"I remember...being in my car," I bit my lip, trying to remember but I can't- someone is trying to kill me? I'm rich that I know, Is money the problem? I always give money to anyone who needs it.
My mother taught me, life isn't fair so it's up to you to make it fair...I can't believe it...someone is trying to kill me!

Ms. Owen rubs my back as I try to process the doctor's words. "Hey, don't think so hard...It'll come back to you whenever you're ready," she says. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. But it's hard to focus when I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down. Ms. Stallis speaks up,

"It's best if I take any information as early as possible." Ms. Owen stands up, facing Ms. Stallis.

"You wouldn't be getting anything with that attitude. He's been in a coma for 2 weeks. You didn't even ask how he was doing. If I were you, I'd walk out that door and try again."

" Ms. Owen-"

"Bye, Visting hours are closed" Ms.Owen persisted, Jennifer sigh in defeat.

"I'll come by tomorrow" She smirks leaving the room, Well, Ms.Owen wasn't joking when she was serious about her job.

"If you need anything press the red button, on your right, and I'll be right over"

"Even if I need a friend to talk to?" Letting my curiosity get the best of me, I shouldn't have said that.

"That's why phones are invented silly" I'm glad she decline my  advances, I sigh and lay my back against the pillow...not noticing that Ms.Owen already left, not noticing how...I stared at an off-TV screen. All night long.

Sleep caught up to me, and my eyes began to shut...before a plate of what looked like to be breakfast sat on my lap...I stare at the food as if it was Allen, and Ms.Owen does the same.

"You didn't sleep. did you?" She crosses her arms as if she's an angry mother...

"Someone tried to kill me with their toxic fingers. They tried to ruin my life, take me away from my family." My fingers grip my hair tightly as I try to steady myself.
The sound of my ragged breaths fills the air, and my heart races as the car behind me follow, its headlights the only source of light in the darkness. I pressed down on the accelerator, but the car behind me matches my speed. Suddenly, the car in front of me comes to a sudden stop, and I'm forced to slam on the brakes.

"Shush , You're okay" Her cold hands held the sides of my face, "You're safe, Thank god, They didn't succeed."

I nod

"Thank him" she insists, Which I didn't know I was supposed to do.

"Thank god" I breathe, feeling the tension in my body leaving "Thank god" I repeat, hoping it'll calm me down more "Thank god" I smile, feeling her touch, it reminds me I'm alive.
