The next morning, it started drizzling lightly.
After the events of last night, Ji Wan'er's mind was already in a state of turmoil. She had even considered taking a break today. But unexpectedly, fate made the decision for her.
Seeing Xiao Qingming getting up, Ji Wan'er thought about what happened yesterday. She opened her mouth to speak but then closed it again. Never mind, it's better to talk about it in the evening. He still has to study, so as not to affect his learning.
After thinking it through, Ji Wan'er lay down again.
Watching Xiao Qingming's figure as he went to study, Ji Wan'er suddenly felt delighted, as if she had the feeling of being a lazy child while all the other kids had to go to school. She wrapped herself in the blanket and fell asleep again.
Perhaps it was because she was accustomed to waking up at this time on regular days, Ji Wan'er woke up after sleeping for about half an hour.
Listening to the gentle sound of rain outside, Ji Wan'er felt refreshed.
Yun Shuang and Zi An knew it was raining but didn't come to fetch her. When she opened the door, she saw the two of them standing under the eaves, playing in the rain.
They truly have the hearts of children.
Yun Shuang heard the movement and looked over.
"Sister-in-law."
"Yes."
After finishing her morning routine, Ji Wan'er went to cook breakfast, and Yun Shuang followed along.
While preparing breakfast, Ji Wan'er looked towards the direction of the study and saw Xiao Qingming's shadow cast on the window. It reminded her of what happened last night.
First, what exactly did Xiao Qingming do last night? Second, did he actually see her with Zhao Shunzi outside?
"Sister-in-law, the fire is too strong, the steamed buns are going to burn," Yun Shuang quickly reminded her.
"Ah?" Ji Wan'er snapped back to reality.
Usually, it was Yun Shuang who tended to the fire, and Ji Wan'er rarely did it herself. But today, she couldn't calm her mind and ended up sitting in front of the stove, tending to the fire while thinking about the situation.
Unexpectedly, she didn't manage to get it right.
She hurriedly removed some firewood from the bottom of the pot, attempting to lower the flames. However, these firewood pieces seemed to have a mind of their own and refused to cooperate. No matter what she did, she couldn't fix the situation.
Seeing this, Yun Shuang quickly came to help.
Ji Wan'er felt a bit frustrated and simply handed it over to Yun Shuang.
During breakfast, Ji Wan'er looked at Xiao Qingming.
Gradually, she noticed that Xiao Qingming's face was turning red again.
Lost in her thoughts while staring at Xiao Qingming's face, suddenly, he lifted his head and quickly glanced at her. Then, he took off the burnt part of the steamed bun and handed her the good half.
"Madam, please have your meal."
Ji Wan'er didn't expect him to act this way and was slightly stunned.
After handing her the steamed bun, Xiao Qingming ate the burnt portion himself.
Ji Wan'er was extremely surprised. What happened to Xiao Qingming? It's as if he has changed into a different person, actually knowing to feed her. Moreover, he saved the good part for her and ate the less desirable portion himself.
