[This is a poem I wish my younger self could see. It is dedicated to her, and reflects on many of her hardships.]Oh, sorrow Filled child
Are you lonely?
Momma left you
You must be lonely.
Oh, sorrow Filled child
Are you hurt?
Step-father hits you
And his son is a pervert.
Oh, sorrow Filled child
Are you depressed?
You cut your wrists
And your classmates won't give
their taunting a rest.
Oh, sorrow Filled child
Are you suicidal?
You tried to hang yourself
Even though air is vital.
Dear sorrow Filled child,
It will be okay.
Momma is back now, and those men are in prison.
The new school kids are friendly.
Don't be lonely.
Don't be hurt.
Don't be depressed.
Don't kill yourself.
For its okay.
Why don't you go play?
Oh, joy filled teen.
Your boyfriend is so loving.
And your friends all care.
And you feel so warm and fuzzy inside
Yet you don't have to lift a hair.
Future you is proud.
Everything is fine.
You are happy.
But most importantly...
You kept yourself around.
