(Noels POV)

Noel woke up. Just like always. Like everything else he did. He would wake up, skip breakfast, go to school, have classes, eat lunch with Penny and Ricky (his friends from the choir), have more classes, go to choir, go home, eat dinner and watch YouTube videos and musicals until he fell asleep. Every single day.

He got up from his bed, starting his usual morning routine. He would get up, brush his teeth, style his hair, try to make his uniform look as good as possible, make sure his nail polish wasn't chipping off, pack his bag, say goodbye to his mom, and leave.

Other kids drove to school, but since Noel lived alone with his mother and they didn't have the money for a car, he had to walk. It wasn't that bad though, school was only about two miles away from his house, so it was a pretty short walk, even if it could be annoying at times.
As he was walking to school again, like every other day, he Got a notification from Penny.

Penny <3: Ricky just texted me! There's a new guy in school, hes like an exchange student from Ukraine or something, Ricky says He's hot!!

Noel scoffed. She knew that this was Penny's Way of saying: "maybe this guy is boyfriend material", but Noel knew better. He had always been the only gay guy in the school, except for Ricky of course, but first of all, Ricky wasn't fully gay, he was pansexual and was already taken by Penny, and second of all, Noel had been friends With him since They were little kids, and it was almost impossible for him to imagine dating him. There was simply no options for him.

It was so unfair! Penny and Ricky always looked like the happiest couple ever. Ever since she came to the school and Ricky found out she knew sign language, They became best friends, and after that, a couple. Noel learned it for him, and until Penny came, Noel was the only one he could actually talk to in a normal manner. Hell, even Ocean and Constance obviously had something going, even if neither of them were willing to admit it. He decided just to text something basic back.

Noel: do u think you might have some competition??

Penny <3: are you crazy? That dude may be hot, but Im a smokeshow...i mean, who could say no to this?

*Penny sent a close-up picture of her making a dumb face*

Noel: absolutely no one, you're the hottest person ive ever seen, im simply flabbergasted

Noel put his phone in his pocket, thinking about the new kid. An exchange student from Ukraine? This could be interesting

When he arrived at school, he noticed he was two minutes late, and he ran to his history class, accidentally bumping into someone in his hurry. "Oh my god, i am so-". Noel looked up and stopped talking immediately. This had to be the student Ricky and Penny were talking about, and damn they were right.
"Oh, sorry dude". He had an accent, Noel had always had a thing for those. He was about his height, maybe a bit taller, he had fluffy brown hair and his uniform looked kind of messy. He was the sort of guy Noel would daydream about being with when he still had hope of getting a boyfriend while he lived in Uranium, a hope he had lost years ago.

"Oh, no problem" he said, trying to force a smile that probably just looked creepy. "Im new, i do not know the way to my history class, Can you show me the way?". Noel was trying hard not to be awkward, but that was horribly hard for him at times. He wished he could just give him a point in the correct way and never speak to him again, but unfortunately, he also had history class. "Sure, im going to history class too, we can walk there together". The boy gave him a smile, and held out his fist, as an invitation to fist bump him. Noel reached his fist out and fist bumped him reductantly.

"My name is Noel by the way", he said, thinking he should probably introduce himself to this boy before following him to class. "Awesome name bro, im Mischa Bachinski". Noel started walking towards the history class, with Mischa following right after him. "So, what are you, like an exchange student?".
