yoongi was twenty-one, -three years older than jungkook-, he was majoring in musical production, shared an apartment with two friends, had rapping skills and was very -very- much cooler than jungkook.

aside from the age thing, which yoongi assured was fine, even when it was weird for subs to be older than their dom partners, jungkook thought the blond was nice. he was interesting and cute and seemed very passionate about his interests, he would totally fall for the guy anytime. but then jungkook was just... boring.

he couldn't refrain to feel dumb while telling yoongi how he was majoring in education and usually just watched anime, tv series and listened to music most of his days.

the thought kept coming back to him every time the other boy mentioned how he performed at some club, or how he was planning on releasing an EP with his roommates at the end of the semester; he also caught their differences in style, while yoongi was rocking some black skinny jeans with vans and a black jacket, jungkook was just wearing a hoodie and jeans with sneakers.

the younger never had to worry about his appearance, always trying hard not to be seen, what made him kind regret not trying harder before.

all these little things seemed to be noticed by the older, who stopped talking mid-sentence to stare at jungkook curiously. "is there something wrong, jungkook?"

the boy looked up, just realizing he had zoned out while the other kept talking. "oh, no. i'm sorry, i just- i'm just tired, i guess," he finished lamely.

yoongi surveyed the younger's face, brows knitted in worry, but if he found something there, he let it go. "yeah, i'm a little bit tired too, it wasn't my best night."

that reminded jungkook what jimin had said, concern filling his chest. "oh, right. were you...," he started, yoongi looked at him awkwardly, as if regretting what he said. "were you alright after i... left?"

the blond remained silent for a moment, thinking of the best way possible not to make jungkook worry again. "it was not that bad," he laughed softly. "just a slight headache and some trouble sleeping, nothing to worry about, just any other day at college, right?" he smiled and squeezed jungkook's hand reassuringly.

they hadn't let go of their hands since their meeting at the school building, their hands now resting over the table top, one over the other; the picture of the other couple from yesterday holding hands flashed in his head, now understanding a little more. it was as if something was running through them by their hands. as if some kind of electricity kept circulating through both their bodies, from one another, like taking strength from each other.

"i really am sorry," said the younger, maybe for the tenth time since they arrived. "it's just that all this soulmate thing was so foreign to me," he sputtered, pausing to try and organize his thoughts and feelings. "i couldn't understand how two strangers could make the other happy in an instance."

yoongi laughed softly. "it is very bizarre," he agreed, "but i guess there's some kind of reassurance in knowing that there's someone out there for you, you know?"

jungkook blinked agaped. he was marveled by how different their minds worked; while jungkook was worried of being tied up to someone, afraid of fate's twisted plans, yoongi looked at it as reassurance. it was the first glimpse of insecurity the younger had seen on the blond, and it made him think that maybe there's more about yoongi that the cool exterior he showed.

"so i understand," the blond continued, "but-"

he stared at jungkook, eyes filled with what the younger thought was uncertainty and hope at the same time. "you're not leaving again, right?"
