"Reverend Mother" said a petite nun running up to the Mother Abbess

"Yes Sister Rose".
" I simply cannot find her" she said quite out of breath
"Marinette?"
"She's missing from the Abbey again" said Rose disapprovingly

"Perhaps we should have put a cowbell around her neck" said another nun named Juleka.
She seemed quite annoyed with how much trouble Marinette caused them all."Have you tried the barn? You know how much she adores the animals" said Sister Sabrina.
"I have looked everywhere. In all of the usual places" replied Rose wearingly.

"Sister Rose, considering that it's Maria I suggest you look in someplace unusual. " chuckled Mother Abbess. "Of course Mother, I'll go look at once"

" Well, Reverend Mother I hope this new infraction ends whatever doubts you may still have about Marinette's future here " said Juleka rolling her eyes.

"I always try to keep faith in my doubts, Sister Juleka" said Mother Abbess

" After all, the wool of a black sheep is just as warm" said Sabrina

" We are not talking about sheep, black or white, Sister Sabrina. Of all the candidates for the novitiate, I would say Marinette is the least likely..." protested Juleka

"Children, children. We were thinking about the qualification of some of our postulants. The Mistress of Novices and the Mistress of Postulants were trying to help me by expressing opposite points of view. Tell me, Sister Catherine, what do you think of Marinette?

" She's a wonderful girl...some of the time" said Sister Catherine

"It's very easy to like Mari...except when it's difficult" said Sister Alexa

" And you, Sister Sophia?" enquired Mother Abbess

Sister Sophia replies sighing " Oh, I love her dearly, but she always seems to be in trouble, doesn't she?"

" Exactly what I say. She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee; her dress has got a tear." starts Juleka

She waltzes on her way to Mass and whistles on the stair

And underneath her wimple she has curlers in her hair

I've even heard her singing in the Abbey

She's always late for chapel

But her penitence is real

She's always late for everything

Except for every meal

I hate to have to say it but I very firmly feel

Mari's not an asset to the Abbey!

" I'd like to say a word in her behalf" interrupts Sister Sabrina

"Then say it, Sister Sabrina " replies Mother Abbess

"Marinette makes me laugh" she chuckles.

"How do you solve a problem like Mari? How do you catch a cloud and pin it down

How do you find a word that means Marinette?

A flibbertigibbet

A will-o'-the-wisp

A clown

Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her. Many a thing she ought to understand

But how do you make her stay and listen to all you say?

How do you keep a wave upon the sand?

Oh, how do you solve a problem like Mari?

How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?"

They all sigh.. thinking on what to do with a girl like Marinette
When She herself Bustles in.. She notices all the nuns staring at her and at once realizes that she's going to be in a lot of trouble

"Oh Mother Abbess! I'm so sor-" began Marinette panting for breath

"Child! go freshen up and I will meet you in my office in 20 minutes" said Mother Abbess firmly

" Ye-es Mother" Marinette sheepishly replies and runs away.

Mother Abbess shakes her head... "Oh Mari.."
The other nuns continue....

When I'm with her I'm confused, out of focus and bemused, and I never know exactly where I am.

Unpredictable as weather

She's as flighty as a feather

She's a darling!

She's a demon!

She's a lamb!

She'd out pester any pest; drive a hornet from its nest

She can throw a whirling dervish out of whirl

She is gentle; she is wild

She's a riddle; she's a child

She's a headache

She's an angel

She's a girl

How do you solve a problem like Marinette? How do you catch a cloud and pin it down? How do you find a word that means Marinette?!

A flibbertigibbet

A will-o'-the-wisp

A clown

Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her. Many a thing she ought to understand.

But how do you make her stay?

And listen to all you say?

How do you keep a wave upon the sand?

Oh how do you solve a problem like Marinette?

How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand.....

"That child is unbelievably unique... In a good way..
She has a different purpose I believe" says Mother Abbess to herself
