Thank you so much for reading Sailor Moon Silver Legacy Volume 1! I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have writing it! SMSL Vol. 1 represents a year of work, comprising over 70,000 words across 43 chapters and 12 pieces of original artwork.
I've been a Sailor Moon fan ever since I first discovered the DIC version of the anime on FOX Kids in the 90s, back when I didn't know the difference between anime and cartoons. I didn't get to see the later seasons until I got my first laptop in university and found the subbed version online, which ignited my anime obsession.
While I loved finally getting to see the end of the story, I (understandably) wanted more, and would often wonder about what might come next for our heroines. How did Crystal Tokyo come about? How did Usagi become Neo Queen Serenity? How might the girls change? How might their powers change?
After moving to a new place, I began jotting down ideas in the Notes app on my phone during my extended journey to work. Soon, I realized I had over 10,000 words of plans written down! I didn't know what to do with them, though. I told myself they were just something to occupy myself during my daily commute and forgot about them.
However, after surprising myself by writing my first book during COVID Lockdown, I couldn't help thinking back to the notes for my Sailor Moon sequel. As time went on, they began to call out to me, but I worried that people wouldn't like the dark and gritty tone of the plot.
In the end, I couldn't ignore the lure of their siren song. The story wanted to be written! I hoped there would be others who found my ideas interesting, but ultimately I knew that, like with my first book, SMSL was the story that I wanted to read!
For me, writing a story that you want to read is the best advice for aspiring writers. As long as you're passionate about a story, you can write it! And if I can, anyone can!
A year or so later, here we are at the end of Vol. 1, following the dramatic cliffhanger that has been plaguing my thoughts for years! I just hope you will forgive me for it!!! With any luck, you will get to see how it all turns out.
VOLUME 2 INFO
SMSL was intended to be a massive, multi-volume, serial web novel. The story has been in my head for years and I have already outlined all 12 Volumes (over 500 chapters)! I REALLY want to continue working on SMSL. At minimum, one more volume is needed to wrap up all of Vol. 1's unanswered questions and cliffhangers.
However, I'm not a fast writer, and writing is a lonely (and unpaid in the case of fanfiction) hobby, so I can't commit time to a project that there isn't demand for. Therefore, I need your help!
Reader engagement means a lot to me and helps keep me motivated. It also helps new readers find the story. So, if you have enjoyed SMSL and wish to see more of it, please let me know and support the story by commenting & voting on your favourite chapters, rating/reviewing on GoodReads.com, and sharing on social media etc.
In the meantime, please check out my other stories, including my illustrated Fakemon adventure, Pokemon Slate Gray, and my 160K word Harry Potter sequel/spinoff story, Gideon Drake and the Fire Within!
FANART
I've been surprised and flattered by readers contacting me about creating SMSL fan content! I welcome this and plan to add a chapter here to display any fan-made SMSL content and link to the creators's socials etc. If you would like to make SMSL fan content, please do get in touch via DM.
MANGA
I'm exploring the idea of making a manga version of SMSL with an art partner. Are you an artist, or do you know an artist, familiar with manga and who can draw Sailor Moon characters in a style close to the 90s anime? Please get in touch.
