"Jasmine, Jasmine, wait!" Cameron yelled from behind. "What?" I snapped at him.
I felt bad because I know it isn't his fault that I'm mad. "I'm sorry about what happened back there, he's a real ass," Cameron mumbled, sighing as he put his arm back to scratch his head.
"Cam?" I asked.
"Huh?"
"I'm sorry." I sighed at him. "Why're you sorry, babe?" He asked kissing my cheek.
That's when the butterflies kicked in and my heart beat fast.
"I shouldn't have been so hateful," I sighed laying my head on his chest as we sat in the cool car. "Don't be sorry about that. I would've been mad too," He smiled at me.
I love his smile. I love his personality. I loved him I think.
"I love you," I smiled, grabbing his soft hand as we drove home. "Love you more, babe." He smiled as he watched the rode. I smiled him as I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
~~~
"Uncle JJ is here!" I heard Dylan scream from down stairs. I quickly jumped out of the bed and Cam followed. I ran down stairs and stopped when I saw him. Cameron looked at me and I nodded. He quickly picked up Dylan and went upstairs.
Luke ran down stairs and stood beside of me. I looked at him and he looked back up to Jack. "Hey, J. I'm sorry I-" Johnson started but Luke cut in. "You could've told us. At least Jaz, you made her life hell and you know that. You knew you was our brother." Luke snapped almost instantly.
I really didn't know what to do. Luke was mad and Jack was obviously upset. I really didn't know my emotions.
"Luke, it's fine," I reassured him. "No, it's not," Luke started yelling.
Here we go.
"I never meant to hurt our sister-"
"My sister. You're no brother, even if it is by blood. You're an ass."
"Luke! I didn't want to tell you or Jasmine. Aunt Lauren told me not to when I was younger," Jack spoke. "That's no excuse-" Luke began but he got cut off. "Luke, it's alright, okay? Drop it. It may be a good thing. We'll settle this but not by yelling. Alright?" I insisted. "Whatever, but you're no brother to me. Or my sister. Just the way you treated her," Luke growled before stomping off.
An awkward silence was among me and Jack. "So..?" He spoke and broke the silence. "What?" I asked. "I'm sorry, I should've told you but-"
"It's fine, Jack. You're my brother and it's the past. Let's look forward, okay? Luke will realize that. He's just mad. Me and him only had each other for a while and Dylan," I sighed. "I'm sorry," he sighed coming toward me and hugging me. "Love you, J." He smiled. "Love you too, JJ."
~~~
"Brian! Dylan! Get back here!" I yelled chasing after the two through the mall.
I can't believe I agreed to watch them while Cameron and Jack had a "guys night out" and Luke went to his friends, Daniel Skye's. This isn't right!
"Gotta catch me first!" Brian mocked. "Brian Finnegan Johnson! Do not talk back. Get back here!" I cried out once again. I kept running and running until I ran into a boy. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I was just chasing after these kids," I laughed. "It's cool," the boy said and I kept running.
"Dylan Taylor Grace Caniff!" I yelled once more.
Shit. I lost my child! And my nephew!
"Dylan! Brian!" I yelled searching store through store. "Hi auntie." A voice said that caused me to jump. "Oh my lord, Brian! Where's Dylan?" I asked. "I dunno," he laughed. "That's not funny! Where is she?" I demanding. "I'm not telling." He laughed again and ran.
Kids.
~~~
I've searched the whole mall and haven't found them. "Cameron?" I called the phone. "Jaz? What's wrong?" He said worriedly through the phone. "I can't find Dylan or Brian. I'm freaking out. They ran away and I don't know what to do!" I cried, looking inside another store. "I'll be there in a few," He said before the line went dead.
"Ma'am? Have you seen a little girl and boy running around anywhere," I asked an older woman working at the register. "No, I'm sorry," she sighed.
I ran out and fell to the floor. I started crying. Why? Maybe because I lost my daughter and nephew. Maybe because I screw everything up. Maybe anxiety. I don't know honestly.
"Jasmine!" I heard a voice. My head shot up and I saw Cameron running toward me. I grabbed my waist and hugged me. "We'll find them. I promise," he smiled slightly.
I know he knows that we may not get them back but he's trying to comfort me.
~~~
"Jasmine, we have to go home. The malls closing soon," he said grabbing my hand. "I'm not leaving without my daughter or Brian!" I yelled. "You have to," Cameron sighed. I shook my head and stomped off.
"Auntie!" A voice said causing me to turn around. I saw Brian and I ran to home. I instantly wrapped my arms around him. "Where's Dylan?" I asked. "I don't know! She ran away from me," Brian simply said.
"Jasmine, we have to go," he said grabbing my hand once again. "No!" I screamed. "Ma'am, the malls closing. I have to ask you to leave," a mall cop came up to me. "I have to find my daughter!" I yelled once again. "Calm down, we'll find your daughter. Just give me all the information I need," he asked picking up a pin and paper so I told him.
~~~
It's been three hours since Dylan left. I've never cried so hard. Jack sat beside Cameron beside of me and on the other side of me was Luke. Brian sat in Jack's lap. "We'll find her, sissy." Luke sighed toward me.
His words always helped.
"I hope so, bubby. I hope so." I cried again.
