*12 weeks later*
As I get ready for school mom comes in my room.
She puts her hands on my shoulders and smiles, "I have a question..."I turn and put my arms out, "How do I look first?" She examines my outfit and speaks, "I would dress more comfortable since you have cheer today."
I groan. "God, I forgot about cheer. Kidnap me. They'll never know I'm gone!" I say, believing it. She scoffs, "I can't do that...I mean I could because it wouldn't be kidnapping because you live with me and- you know what? Nevermind the kidnapping. You have to go, Lavender, unless you would like to quit?"
I groan louder, "No, it's the only way I can dance without using ballet..." Mom frowns, "I thought you liked ballet?" She asks, hurt.
I shake my head, "No, I love it mom but I just want to add some spice to my dancing you know? Not make it all ballet and not make it all too modern."
She gives a confused look, "We already are doing lyrical dance, Lavender." I nod, "I know but it feels...oh what's the word..."
She says it for me, "Old?" I nod, "Yes...sorry but it does." I say quietly. She nods, "Well what can we do to make it more modern in your eyes?"
I smile, "You're considering it without shutting me down completely?" I ask, shocked. She nods, "Yes...you're dad has talked some sense into me about letting you do what you are gonna do and just supporting you and I think he is right so yes...I am considering it and not shutting you down completely. Besides, it sounds intriguing to me."
I nod, "Cool. Thankyou." She nods, "Okay now for what I was gonna tell you. Would you be willing to do duets again?"
"Who would I do them with?" Please say Tate. Please say Tate! "I have a couple boys in mind-or girls if you would like. Ooo! You could do a duet with May as friends!" I nod, "Yeah I'd love to dance with May, who are the boys?"
She scoffs, "Well none of them are Tate unfortunately but they still have the similar weight and height." She says positively. I frown, "Mom...that doesn't make me feel better."
She nods, "I knew it wouldn't. I'm sorry Lav but Tate probably doesn't wanna do it. I don't blame him, he doesn't wanna hurt you. The accident wasn't his fault or yours but I know he doesn't want to be apart of another accident that involves you and dance. So today after school, I'll run you to the studio and you can meet the boys and watch them dance with the other girls."
I nod, "Okay...sure." I smile to hide my dissapointment but she knows me too well. "We can ask Tate if he would like to but I don't know if he'll want to Lavender...but we can definitely try if that's what you want."
I smile hopefully. "Yes. I really want to try. There's no harm in it. The worst thing that can happen is he will say no." She nods, "I'm afraid that will break your heart though...I don't wanna see my little girl heart broken again for 3 years."
I shake my head, "You won't. I promise." I check my outfit and smile.
