💐Lavender's POV💐

When I wake up, I check the time. Ah crap. I'm gonna be late. I hurry up and get dressed, brush my hair. I zoom to the bathroom, brush my teeth, check my face and hair and go to my bag and put deodorant and perfume on and go down to wake Josh so he can drive us.

I knock on his door, "Dude! Get up! We're late!" I say, internally freaking out. Mrs. Watson is gonna flip out on me because of my tardiness.

I hear his muffled voice, "You have a doctors appointment today. Mom's gonna take you after she gets off work."

I furrow my brows. "Why'd she let you stay home?" He doesn't answer, instead I hear shuffling sounds and I jump when I see his door swing open and he walks out, looking pale and exhausted. "Woah. You look like shit." I say, not even realizing I'm cussing until after I already did it.

He chuckles, "You better watch it. Mom might ground you too." I follow him into the kitchen and he explains what's gonna happen today.

"Alright. Mom let me stay home cause I got sick last night. And it wasn't the alcohol. I didn't even drink. I made one of my buddies watch me. He doesn't drink either. So therefore I am also going to the doctor with you for an appointment of my own."

I look at him blankly, "You could of just said you had an appointment too-" I say. He rolls his eyes, "Yeah okay. I could've said that but it would have been a lame way to state it."

Silence takes over the house and I stand up straight when Josh speaks. In his comedic tone. But I know he isn't joking...

"Mom told me what happened last night. That my party caused you to get hurt? I just want you to know I didn't invite the dickwad, he just showed up and I wasn't paying well enough attention to you. I won't be making that mistake again...you're 16, I'm not gonna watch you like mom does but just know...I might be a dick to you sometimes but I'm always gonna protect you and love you. You're my little sister."

"Thanks Josh. That means a lot. I love you too." I open my arms for a hug and I walk towards him and he wraps me in a hug. "I always got your back." He says. I smile, "I got yours too."

We go to the doctor and the doctor says I'm okay to dance but not extensively. So I can't practice as much I used to but I can still practice a couple days a week for a couple hours.

The doctor tested Josh and he tested positive for the flu and strep throat so he has to wear a mask and quarantine when we get home.

On the drive home mom asks me a question. "So how's May Vinnie?" I shrug, "I haven't heard from her so I don't know..." Mom steps on the breaks out of shock but let's off them quickly when she realizes. "What? Why?"

I shrug again and look out the window, "I don't know. I haven't talked to her..." We get home and I chill in my room until school let's out and I get up and change for skating. I'm already wearing Van's so I take them off, change and then put them back on.
