"Ughhh, why do you have to be so annoying?!" Jisung groaned, yanking the blanket over his head.

His sister, Han Jiyeon, was already in full chaos mode, standing by his bed with a pillow raised like a weapon.

"It's literally your first day of university and you wanna be late?! Get your lazy ass up, dumbass!"

Jisung peeked out from under the blanket with a glare. "Tch. Junnie hyung is way nicer than you."

Jiyeon gasped like he just committed a crime. "Yah?! What did you just say to me?!"

But before the pillow could strike, Jisung was already in the bathroom, locking the door behind him with a smug little "Ha!"

downstairs

"Good morning, mom," Jisung greeted sweetly, entering the kitchen.

His mom smiled at him from where she sat watching the news. Jiyeon was already at the table but Jisung ignored her completely, sliding into the seat across from her with a sigh.

"Good morning, Ji," his mom replied.

Jiyeon scowled. "Excuse me?? Did you just ignore me?"

"I saw you," Jisung said casually, grabbing a piece of toast. "It's not like your ugly face is hard to miss."

"This little-" Jiyeon growled under her breath.

The usual bickering came to a halt when a sudden "Breaking News!" alert blared from the TV.

> BREAKING NEWS:
A notorious mafia group, known as "SKZ," is rumored to be operating within Highlight University. An anonymous source has revealed a name -- Lee Know.
If you see or hear anything suspicious, report it immediately to the police.

Jisung choked on his toast.

"Highlight University?!" he coughed, pounding his chest. That's where I'm going! Oh my god. Please don't let anything happen...

"Mom, can you please turn that off?" he asked quickly.

She nodded and clicked the remote, switching it to a music channel. Jisung tried to calm his racing heart and finish his breakfast. First day of college and he was already knee-deep in mafia news?! Great.

Jisung's POV

I walked toward campus, trying to shake off the weird feeling in my gut. Jiyeon ditched me to go with her friends-ugh, lucky brat.

I took a deep breath. Okay, Han Jisung, it's fine. You're gonna have a chill and normal day.

"JISUNG!!!"

I turned around just in time to be tackled by a very familiar voice.

"Felix?!"

My best friend since kindergarten. We used to go to school together before I moved to Malaysia. We kept in touch every single day-FaceTime, texts, the whole deal. When I told him I was coming back, he literally screamed in text. I heard the scream through the keyboard.

He hugged me so tight I nearly lost consciousness.

"Fel-Felix-I can't breathe-" I wheezed, patting his back.

"Oops, my bad!" he grinned, pulling away. "Anywayyy I missed you so freaking much! Look at your face! You look exactly the same. Ugh, these cheeks-I missed them."

I smirked. "Which cheeks?"

He slapped my shoulder with a mock gasp. "Han Jisung!"

"Ow!" I laughed. "Okay okay, what's your first class?"

"Chemistry!" he said.

"No way-same!"

We kept chatting as we made our way to campus, the vibe chill and familiar, like nothing had changed.

Until... I felt it.

Someone was watching us.

I turned, pretending to stretch, and saw a tall guy dressed in all black walking behind us. Hoodie up. Face mostly hidden.

"Lix..." I whispered, leaning closer. "I think someone's following us."
