“Tell me what happened,” Chan said, eyes flicking between Minho and me.

“Chan, I was literally walking to my seat, and that bitch Sungji purposefully tripped and dumped his food all over me,” Minho growled. “I was pissed, so I yelled at him. Then this squirrel boy over here,” he jabbed a thumb at me, “decided to come play hero and defend that mf—”

“How do you even know he did it on purpose?!” I snapped, cutting him off.

“You don’t know him, darling. He’s a bad guy,” Minho said coolly.

The word darling hit like a bomb. Everyone’s jaw? On the floor.

“Oh really, kitten?” I shot back with a smug smirk. “Then why’d he cry in front of you?”

Minho blinked. Speechless. Gotcha.

“D-Darling?! Kitten?!” Felix practically screeched, looking between us like he was watching a drama unfold live.

“Oh my god, it’s not what you think!” I flailed. “He’s insane! He’s been calling me that since the canteen incident and I’ve had ENOUGH. I only said it back to shut him up! And look! It actually worked—dude finally shut his mouth!”

Minho, still stunned, said nothing.

Score one for Han Jisung

Ding Ding Ding (Ding ding donggg😏)

The bell rang, saving us all from more awkwardness. First day classes were only till noon. Felix grabbed me and yanked me toward the campus gates.

“I CANNOT believe you talked to Minho like that!” he shouted, still breathless from the chaos.

“What?” I blinked.

“Jisung, if anyone else had talked back to him like that, he’d have snapped their arms and legs! I’m seriously shocked he didn’t do anything to you. If he had, I swear to god, I would’ve killed him myself.”

“You’re friends with Minho?!”

“Yeah… He and the others helped me when some guy was bullying me.”

“WAIT—someone bullied you AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME?! WHO IS IT?! I SWEAR TO GOD I’M GONNA SNAP THAT MF’S—”

“Jisung, calm down!” Felix said quickly. “No one knows where he is now. He’s been missing since that day.”

“…Oh. Uh. Creepy.”

“Right?! I even asked Changbinnie hyung about it, and he just ignored me. Tch.”

“Wait—Changbin? Is that the guy you have a crush on?” I teased.

“Yes!! He was the one standing behind me in the canteen today!” Felix practically swooned.

“Ohhh, that short bo—”

“DON’T CALL HIM SHORT!” he hissed, scandalized.

“Damn! Okay okay, chill! I’m sorry!”

“It’s fine…” he muttered, blushing.

We reached the school gate, and I spotted my mom waiting by our car. I jogged up to her.

“Mom! You didn’t tell me you were picking me up today!” I said, panting slightly.

“Surprise~” she chuckled, brushing my bangs out of my eyes.

“Hi Aunty!” Felix said with that sunshine smile of his.

“Lixie!! Oh my gosh, look at you! You’ve grown so much!” she cooed, clearly thrilled.

“I’m doing good, Aunty! How about you?”

“I’m great. How was your first day, boys?”

Felix and I looked at each other. I sighed.

“It was… good,” I said with a strained smile.

“Where’s Jiyeon?” I asked, glancing at the back seat.

“She went out with her friends,” Mom replied as she got in the car.

“Lixie, want us to drop you home?” she asked.

“No thanks, Aunty! I’m going with some other friends. Bye Ji! See you tomorrow! Bye Aunty!”

“Byeee Lix!” we said in unison.
