Jisung’s POV

“Lix… I think someone’s following us.”

I was sweating. My hands were trembling. My heart raced with every step.

Just kidding. You really think I’d be that nervous? Please.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Felix glanced back—and the second he saw who it was, his face lit up like a Christmas tree.

“Oh my GOD! Hyung, you scared me!” he squealed, loud enough to make my ears ring.

The stranger in all black smiled. “Hey Lix! How’ve you been? And who’s this cutie?”

Cutie? Wait, who is this guy?

“I’m good! This is my best friend, Han Jisung,” Felix beamed, nudging me forward. The guy offered me a hand.

“Hey, I’m Chan. Nice to meet you,” he said, flashing a bright, charming smile.

Oh. Aussie. Just like Felix. Must be something in the water over there.

“Hi Chan… Hyung?” I asked, kinda guessing based on vibes (and the fact Felix called him that).

Chan chuckled. “Yup, 21—turning 22 soon.”

Whoa. He’s ancient.

“Ah, okay,” I smiled politely.

And with that, the three of us headed to school.

In Class – Minho & Hyunjin

“Ugh, can you be on time just once in your life?” Minho groaned, watching Hyunjin stroll in.

“Sorry bro. Had to check on Kkami,” Hyunjin muttered, plopping into the seat beside him.

“Tch.” Minho rolled his eyes. “You do the homework?”

“Homework?! It’s literally the first day—what homework?!”

“Oh… right. I just… did it out of habit.”

“You’re sick.”

Before Hyunjin could roast Minho further, Mr. Choi walked in.

“Good morning, students!” he called out, flipping open his attendance book.

“Jeon Jaemin.”

“Present, sir.”

“Hwang Hyunjin.”

“Here!”

“Lee Felix…”

Silence.

“Lee Felix?” Mr. Choi looked up, eyebrows raised—just as someone burst into the room.

“L-Lee Felix—present!” Felix panted dramatically.

“Late on day one?” Mr. Choi sighed.

“Sorry, sir!”

“And the squirrel behind you?”

Felix grinned. “This is Han Jisung, my best friend. He’s new.”

“Oh? A new student? Go on, introduce yourself, squirrel boy.”

“Hi everyone! I’m Han Jisung,” I said cheerfully. “I was studying in Malaysia till recently. My mom got transferred here, so here I am! I’ll do my best!”

“Welcome, Jisung. Take your seat.”

Felix and I bowed, then he pulled me toward two empty seats—right beside two guys I hadn’t noticed before.

“Jisung, this is Hyunjin,” Felix said. “And that’s Minho. He’s a senior. Looks cold but he’s chill.”

“Hi Hyunjin!” I waved.

Hyunjin smiled. “Hey! Nice to meet you.”

“Hi, Minho hyung,” I added with a friendly grin.

“Hi,” Minho replied, barely glancing at me.

…Tch. Rude.

I sat down, pulling out my books and muttering under my breath.

Lunch Break – Jisung’s POV

I was starving. Felix was MIA. The canteen was packed. And I was sitting. Alone. Kill me.

Suddenly—“WHAT THE FUCK?!”

The whole room froze.

I peeked over and—yup. Minho. Standing, seething, covered in food.

“Sorry Minho, I—”

“DON’T YOU DARE DO THAT AGAIN,” Minho barked at the poor trembling kid in front of him. Looks like the guy tripped and spilled lunch on Minho.

Seriously? Overreact much?

“YOU’D BETTER BUY ME A NEW SHIRT BY TOMORROW,” Minho growled, brushing food off himself.

The guy looked like he was gonna cry. Ugh. I couldn’t take it anymore.

“He won’t!” I snapped. “It’s not even his fault!”

Everyone turned to stare. I could feel the tension. Whispers spread like wildfire.

‘Did he really just say that to Minho?!’

‘He’s dead meat.’

‘Broooo no one talks back to Lee Minho.’

Great. Why did I open my big mouth?

Minho raised an eyebrow. “What was that, darling?”

“I said—it’s not his fault,” I shot back. “Tripping is normal! Why act like he committed murder?! And I’m not your darling.”

“He should’ve been careful. Why defend someone you don’t even know, sweetheart?”

“Because I know how it feels to be bullied,” I said, louder than intended.

The silence was deafening. Even Minho looked stunned.

After a pause, he smirked. “Okay, fine. I’ll let him off. But you owe me a shirt now.”

“Why me?! It’s just a shirt! Ever heard of detergent?”

He opened his mouth, but—

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BEST FRIEND?!” Felix yelled, yanking Minho by the collar.

“Lix! Calm down!” Minho yelped. “I didn’t touch him!”

“I don’t care! Keep your hands off him or I swear—”

“Felix, it’s okay,” I cut in.

Felix slowly let go, still glaring.

“What are you all looking at?! GET LOST!” a shorter guy behind Felix barked, scattering the crowd.

Chan turned to me. “Alright, tell me what happened.”
