The next morning,  Wyatt went to fencing. When he walked in, he immediately noticed Paige standing there with Enid. She looked at him and smiled.  Wyatt immediately looked away so she wouldn't see the faint blush on his cheeks. "Coach, Coach, she tripped me," A boy said. "It was a clean strike, Rowan," The coach said.

"Maybe if you whined less and practiced more, you wouldn't suck," Bianca said. Paige couldn't help thinking that she was right. "Seriously, Coach, when am I gonna get some real competition? Anyone else want to challenge me?" "I do,"  Wyatt said. "Oh, you must be the psychopath they let in," Bianca said. Paige immediately frowned when she heard that.

Enid put her hand on Paige's arm to keep her from shooting a fireball at Bianca. "You must be the self-appointed Queen Bee. Interesting thing about bees. Pull out their stingers, they drop dead," He said. Paige smirked and chuckled to herself. "Rowan doesn't need you to come to his defense. He's not helpless, he's just lazy," She taunted. "Are we doing this or not?"  Wyatt asked, having enough of hearing her talk.

"En garde," Coach said.  Wyatt and Bianca started to fence. Paige couldn't help but watch the match intently. "Point to Wyatt." "The score is even," He said. "That first point was clearly beginner's luck. Let's finish this," Bianca said. "For the final point, I would like to invoke a military challenge. No masks. No tips. Winner draws first blood,"  Wyatt said. "I hope Wyatt knows what he's doing," Paige thought.

"It's your decision, Bianca." "Let's see if you bleed in black and white," She said. Everything seemed to be going well and it looked like Wyatt was going to win but then Bianca drew his blood. Paige looked on, extremely disappointed. "You face finally got that splash of color it so desperately needed." Bianca said with a smile. Paige balled up her fists to keep her emotions in check. Because she knew that if she didn't, she was going to shoot fire at Bianca.

The first thing Paige did after class was go to see Wyatt. She went to the infirmary. "You're Wyatt, right? Rowan. I know how you feel," He said. "I guarantee you don't,"  Wyatt said. "My mother promised me I'd finally fit in somewhere. I never thought it was possible to be an outcast in a school full of outcasts. But it looks like you're going to give me a run for my money. Uh... Sorry about the nick," Rowan said.

"No good deed goes unpunished," He replied. Paige put her hand on his arm, "Are you really ok?" He nodded, "I'm fine." The two walked outside together. As it started to rain,  Wyatt opened his umbrella and pulled Paige under it with him. Suddenly, a voice shouted their names. "Paige! Wyatt!" Then they were tackled to the ground and everything went black.
