Slam dunk!!! I here as I watch basketball. As I watch I think to myself,"that use to be me." Before the injury at least.
But I haven't lost everything. I still have my wife, and my 17 year old son Andre, and I will always have my friend Tom.
He's a little goofy but you got to love him. We met when I use to work at a gas station. I really don't know what happened but he's a good one.
But aside from my friend Tom, and my family life's not looking to good. I have not found a good job since the NBA. Luckily my wife is a nurse.
"Honey will you get the door please I'm cooking." Sure" I replied yelling to the kitten. It was Tom.
"What do you want." I asked a little frustrated. He replied, "to start why so glum" I told him, "I'm not but 90 percent of the stuff that comes out of your mouth is horse shit" he said, " Great your in a good mood! So prepare to be In a great one, I found a job were you could finally get back in basketball and coach a high school team." I'll have to think about it, I said before laughed.
Let me put it this way. Would you rather scrub toilets at wall mart or coach basketball. Tom said with a cleaver smile. I replied, have other talents. Tom then said, like what you were to good at basketball to have another special skill.
I was flattered and the next thing I new I was there for the job. Before I even signed up, the person by the sign ups stopped me and said, "if you want it. The job is yours.
I was a little suspicious after that but I got a job in basketball so that pretty cool. You clever sneaky bastard I said to Tom with anger as I got in the car pulling out of the parking lot. You tricked me into coming here. Your like a crazy hypnosis. To late now because your not a quitter and that's one thing I know Tom said as if I had no come back, and he was right.
Two weeks later I had to start. Those two weeks flew by if you wanted to know. The gym wasn't to pretty. Then as I walked through those double doors that made a noise as if They were going to fall off when I walked through I saw why I was suspicious.
