"Hurry, Y/N, the truck will be here any minute now," Aunt Sofia called out as I stood in the doorway of my empty bedroom.
I looked around one last time, my heart heavy. Every poster was gone, every little piece of me packed into boxes.
With a deep breath, I reached for the light switch, turned it off, and gently closed the door behind me.
Downstairs, the energy was buzzing. Tape guns clicking, boxes being shuffled, and voices overlapping as everyone helped out.
"All set, Y/N?" Miss Simone asked, wiping her hands on her jeans as she noticed me.
I nodded, trying to smile. "Yeah... all set."
But my chest felt tight. Tom and I still hadn't talked. Not since that night. And now, I was leaving. Today was it.
The moving truck finally pulled up in front of the house, and everyone started hauling boxes outside.
I decided I couldn't leave without saying something. I couldn't carry this with me to a new place.
I spotted Tom near the porch and walked over. "Hey... can I talk to you for a second?"
He looked at me, surprised but nodded. I took a deep breath and stepped closer, pulling him aside.
"I just wanted to say... I'll miss you. A lot. And I'm sorry about what happened at dinner. That night... it wasn't how I wanted things to go."
Tom shook his head immediately. "Y/N, don't apologize. That was all on me. I should've never put you in that position. You mean so much to me and I just... I messed up. I took advantage of how close we were, and I regret it."
He looked down for a second before meeting my eyes again. There was something soft in his expression. Honest. I felt my heart twist.
I hugged him, tightly.
"Y/N, come on, we have to leave now, honey!" Aunt Sofia called out from the front door.
I pulled back slowly from the hug, but before I could stop myself, I leaned in and kissed him.
Tom's POV
She kissed me. After everything I said. Everything I did.
But I didn't hesitate, I kissed her back. It felt right. And when she pulled away, I just held her in my arms for a moment longer.
She smiled at me. That same smile with her cute train tracks, those braces I always secretly loved.
God, I'm going to miss that smile.

Y/N's POV
After hugging everyone goodbye and loading the last box, I climbed into the passenger seat of the truck beside Aunt Sofia.
As we pulled away, I stared out the window, watching the house shrink behind us. I didn't let myself cry.
This was a fresh start. A new chapter.
☆
Hours later, we finally pulled up to the new house. It wasn't anything crazy, but it had charm.
A front porch, big windows, a garden waiting to be cared for. I stepped out, stretching my arms as Aunt Sofia chatted with the driver.
She was smiling at him and touching his arm lightly, laughing at something he said.
I raised a brow. Well damn... she's got it good with men, huh?
Once the last boxes were inside, she joined me and helped unpack the basics.
She kissed my forehead on her way out. "I'm going to grab us some takeout, mi cielo. You rest, okay?"
I nodded.
☆
Later that night, we sat on my new bed, legs tangled in cozy blankets, flipping through old magazines and gossiping.
Aunt Sofia had a sparkle in her eyes as she told me she might have a little crush on the moving truck driver.
I smiled. It made me happy. She never really dated, not seriously anyway. She deserved something lighthearted and good.
As we laughed and turned another page, I couldn't help but feel the ache creep in.
I missed the Kaulitz's already.
I missed him.
