Letter #3: Temporary

I'm good with temporary. People knew I could handle it even though sometimes I could crash and burn. When they leave, they leave traces of them within my soul. Their fingerprints could be seen on my skin as well as the deep scratches they make down my back. Some old stab marks would still hurt upon every old memory of them unlocked itself with every new experience. People love to leave me as their stays are only temporary from the very beginning with no intention of being permanent. I let them leave me as they leave me with a piece of themselves anyway. I don't normally force people to stay but as I stand with you here, watching the glorious lightning streaks across the night sky and hearing the thunderclaps from a mile away, I can't help but make you an exception. I hope you aren't going to be temporary anytime soon and I hope you stay for a little while longer.
