Ch 4.

Anastasia POV

I woke up extremely early. I looked at the clock and it read 5:27. I decided that i would go for a run since I haven't done so in a while. I went into my drawer and pulled out black work out pants and a baby blue racer back tank top. I brushed my teeth and threw my hair in a pony tail. I left a note for my parents. I grabbed my keys and headed of.

While running through town I saw a familiar figure. He was also running. Well I guess a lot of people are in the mood to run this morning. I checked the time and headed home. I ran past the familiar figure from earlier only to realize it was Aaron. I stopped in my tracks to say hi, but he beat me to it.

" Hey Anastasia. How are you" asked Aaron

" I'm good just trying to clear my head. It's been pretty hectic around here. " i replied trying to catch my breath.

" Same here, trying to put together the house and all that stuff is getting to my head. Plus running is always good. "

" I should probably get going because I have to stuff with my mom."

" Its only like 6 o'clock. " he informed me

" It's an all day thing. Very crazy. I'll see you around sometime." I said

" I'll you get going then. See you around." he waved and took off

What was with this kid and waving. Oh well. As I ran home i thought about my conversation with Aaron. I felt like I could trust him. I barely knew him and I felt like I could trust him. That was a bit weird for me since I've built a wall that doesn't allow trust. Trust leads to hurt. With my powers I feel like if I trust I might end up hurting them. I can't do that.

I reached the house and smelled sage.We only use sage on rare occasions. What was going on. " Mom? What's with the sage?" I asked

" Oh its to block out all the bad spirits that might try to distract you from controlling your powers." she replied happily

" Oh." I think my mom is loving to spend more time with me since I'm always busy.

My set the table up like she did when we figured out which type of witch I was. She said to try and control your mind to do stuff with the elements.

I started with fire. I looked at the coal and just blinked and it lit on fire. It was a small flame.

" The flame will grow bigger as you grow stronger." My mother informed me

I tried earth next. I did the same thing as before and a little stem popped up. I laughed because it was so cute. My mom smiled and looked at me and said " the stem reminds me of you because you haven't grown into your full potential yet. "

I walked over to her and gave her a hug. I then proceeded to water. I repeated the same steps as before and a small whirlpool appeared.

I looked at the bowl. Closed my eyes and took control over my mind to do it. The top of the bowl moved a bit.

My mother made me do these repeatedly. Each time there was an improvement. It was time for lunch and my mom had to run an errand so I made myself a PB& J sandwich. It was pretty good.

When my mom came back she said we were done for the day and we made good progress. I decided I was gonna go to the park again to clear my head of all this witchcraft. As I was headed to Woodland Park I saw a house that was beign moved into. My first instinct was to go help. So I did.

" Hey. You just couldn't stay away." I heard a voice say. It sounded familiar. I spun on my heels to find Aaron.

" Well I was heading to the park and my first instinct was to come and help." I explained

He laughed and smiled " We could use the help since my dad had to make a quick phone call with his boss."

I smiled and took a box and made my way towards the house. When i reached the door I couldn't walk through. This has never happened to me before. I freaked out a bit but kept it to myself.

" hey Why don't I just hand you the boxes from the car. It might get it done a bit faster." I suggested

" sure. Just leave the box at the door and I'll come get it. " he yelled since he was upstairs.

I went to go grab another box and I was stopped by someone. I looked up to see Aaron's dad. I gave him a faint smile.

" who are you?" The man asked

" Anastasia I'm somewhat friends with your son. I saw you guys and I asked if they needed help and they said yes. I can leave if you want. " I said a bit scared

" well we could always use an extra hand." He said joyfully

" we were just going to pass the boxes so we get them In the house faster. "

" That's pretty smart" he smiled. His smile was nothing like Aaron's. His looked a little sinister and cold.

We started passing the boxes. After an hour we finished.

" I gotta get home for dinner since I'm cooking tonight. See you guys around." I told them.

"Bye " was shouted from upstairs.
I laughed and made my way down the driveway.

I decided not to go to Woodland because it was getting late. I reached my house and realized I forgot my keys. I rang the bell multiple times and there was a note on the floor that says they went out to go grocery shopping. I sat on the swing and texted Taylor

A: I'm locked out of the house.

T: I'm busy. Can't talk. Bye

A: bye

Well that was a bust. I looked through my contacts and I saw such an old contact. Liam. We were close friends last year but went off to different high schools. I texted him.

A: hey Liam. How's it going. It's been a long time since we talked.

L: hey! We should hang out next week since I'm not doing anything.

A: maybe let me check my schedule

L: okay I gotta go. Bye

I sighed and shut off my phone since i didn't have anything to do. I just sat on the porch swing and got lost in my thoughts.

After 30 or so minuets my parents finally came home. We ate dinner and watched a movie. I was done with school. So I didn't have to do anything tomorrow, but my parents had to work. So I was all alone.

Then I feel asleep.

I woke up the next morning on the couch. I must have fell asleep during the movie last night. I went out for a run again and then went to get some Starbucks. I got a Passion Tea and then headed home. I decided I would binge watch Gossip Girl. After a couple hours of that I went to get food.

Taylor texted me and how we were going to get ice cream at 4 and I looked at the clock and it said 3:30. I went to go get ready since I was in sweat pants and my hair was a mess. I straightened my hair and put on a cute sundress.

I headed out to the ice cream shop and saw Taylor talking with the cashier. I think she was flirting. I laughed at her. I sat down and when she saw me she ran over to where I was sitting and told all about her day. It was pretty much hair shopping.

I heard the bell on the door ring from the front and I looked over to see Aaron and his dad. His just looked at me while Aaron didn't notice at first. When he noticed me he smiled. Of course I smiled back. I went back to my conversation with Taylor.

We then left the shop and walked around Main Street. We both went out separate ways when the sun started to set.

I got home and my mom said that I should go with her to work with her tomorrow so she can teach me some stuff. I agreed and went to my room.

I woke up to the sound of banging and yelling.
