The letter crinkled under the Queen's hand as her grip tightened on it.

"Dearest 'King' and 'Queen' of Auradon,

For years, I have been wasting away without magic. My glorious army- gone and lifeless. My castle- dismantled and turned to nothing but rubble. I had once been feared, and crowds would shake at the sound of my name.

Then, I was cast away and forgotten.

However, you all were foolish to think you were safe. With the destruction of the barrier and freedom of the wicked, my power is returning.

And I believe you have something of mine. Whether you try to protect the Cauldron or not, I will have it.

Sincerely,

The true King"

Mal looked up at Ben, biting fear in her eyes. "The guards said they found it pinned to the front gates with this." The King said, holding up a knife. The white blade and carved skull design told Mal it was made of bone.

"Okay, so, this is..." She cleared her throat a bit. "Not good." An understatement to how she really felt.

Actually, a very major understatement.

Ben shook his head, understanding Mal's anxiety. "If people find out about this, some might want to close off the Isle again." He said.

Mal's breathing hitched slightly at that. "We can't have that. We can't." She put the letter on a nearby table. "So, a forgotten villain who had a cauldron..." She tapped her fingers on the table in thought.

The King turned to a nearby bookcase, scanning the books' spines and reading the titles of each story. "My parents kept the stories of all the heroes and villains on Auradon and the Isle.

"One of these has to be it."

Mal looked over, helping Ben search. She looked to one of the top shelves, and noticed a book shoved behind the others. Standing on her toes, she reached over and took it. Dust practically coated her hand when she pulled it back. She read the cursive, gold title on the jet-black cover.

The Black Cauldron.

"I know this one..." Mal said, her voice just a whisper as she looked at Ben. "This," she gestured to the letter, "was from the Horned King.

"He's going to try and steal THE Black Cauldron."
