(I don't know how to do fight scenes, okay- please be merciful lmao-
My expertise is in internal conflict-)
Rooftops were easy for Gracie to traverse. They were an escape from the people below.
Looking at her teammates (friends?), she noted how they weren't as experienced in the realm of rooftop-obstacle course as she was.
As the kingdom of Auradon slept, the King's Thieves rushed past chimneys and fire escapes. They made an effort to not make too much noise.
They couldn't get caught when they hadn't even made it to the Cauldron.
Soon, the castle was before them. Now, they just had to get in.
As CJ inched closer to the wall, he noted a vent that sat upon a faint path.
"Might be a way in." He mumbled, gesturing the others over. "It looks like there's a tunnel system underneath."
"Welp," Gracie gave a quick nod and knelt down to the vent. She grabbed the side of it and managed to rip it off.
Hannah paused, looking into the darkness of the tunnel. "Okay... We can do this." She said, pulling her hood up.
They slipped into the vent, fumbling into the shadows like the inexperienced thieves they were. They ended up in a crawlspace, where they could see another vent that gave a faint light.
"Cauldron's in there." Hannah whispered, pointing to the vent.
~~~
With the status of the Horned King's thieves, Sahira would've expected a more impressive entrance.
What they got instead was still... impactful.
Hannah King suddenly fell through a vent above the room and landed on the floor before the platform.
She quickly scrambled to her feet, then looked around and up to the vent. Hannah stepped away from under the vent, after which two other teens fell down.
For a moment, Sahira and her team didn't know what to do.
Hannah glanced at them awkwardly, aware that this wasn't going the way she wanted. CJ pushed a dazed Gracie off of him and got to his feet.
"Hello." Hannah said quickly, waving and looking over to the Cauldron. "We'll be taking that, if you don't mind."
Twyla tilted her head, leaning to Embry. "She doesn't look that scary." She observed.
"And you'd think white rabbits don't drag you to hell." Embry said simply.
Before Twyla could inquire about that, Ray spoke up. "I think we do mind, princess." He said, raising an eyebrow.
Hannah seemed off-put by the nickname and the resistance. A part of her guessed that the others were aware of her father's power.
"Well..." She glanced over to her teammates. She wasn't exactly good at the intimidation thing, was she?
"We'll have to take it by force." CJ declared, to which Gracie nodded enthusiastically. His voice drew attention to him, which made Hannah happy that they weren't all looking at her.
Ray failed to hold back a laugh. "The son of Chernabog? What are you two, 'Two for One Junior Demon Burgers'?" He taunted.
Gracie, too, let out a laugh at the insult. She covered her mouth and turned away from Hannah and CJ in an attempt to hide her amusement.
"Gracie, please," Hannah sighed, looking more embarrassed than before. Gracie squeaked out a couple apologies through her giggles.
Sahira gave Ray a subtle nudge. "No need to provoke the demons." She whispered.
