Vi had been having a rather shitty week so far. It seems as if she can never catch a break. First off, she was late on rent again. Normally, she gets it in on time, maybe a day late, but never as long as she had this time. It's not that she's not trying to get the money in on time, but with her...unusual side job, it's been increasingly problematic to find time to earn extra money on the side.
She also used to have someone with her to help pay the rent...
Caitlyn.
Her lover.
It had happened over a year ago by now, but that doesn't mean that she's over her death by any means.
No, she'll never be able to move past it. Caitlyn was the one thing in her life that made her feel so special, so loved.
And now that love has gone and shriveled up.
Honestly, she doesn't even think she's fully processed her lover's death yet.
Could anyone though?
It's been in the back of her mind every single day since her passing.
She could have done something.
Anything!
But...she was too late.
Vi shakes her head to rid herself of those thoughts, trying to stay in the present and deal with the life she has right now.
What was she thinking about again? Oh, right.
She's even called off work at least 5 times in the past month. That's more than she's ever done. It is also definitely not helping her case with the money situation by any means but, in her defense, she had important matters to attend to.
Like, extremely important.
And by important matters, she means her newish Spider-Women gig.
Never once in her life did she think that anything like that was real nor would anything like that ever happen to her, but here she is, living to tell the tale. Not as stable as she would have hoped, but she's still doing good for others. That's all she could really hope for anyway.
Her story about becoming what she is today was pretty simple. Probably like most superhero stories you can think of off the top of your head. She got bit by this weird-looking spider, got sick for a week, then woke up with crazy new powers.
Powers like increased strength, heightened senses, stickiness all over her whole body, and even better flexibility? Or maybe a better term would be increased acrobatic skills. Whatever the word is, she can do a lot of cool new shit that she couldn't do before.
The only new power she got that wasn't really power at all was fangs.
Yup, fangs.
She would have thought that with getting all of the other stuff that this wouldn't have surprised her, but it did.
Whenever she smiled, it showed, laughed too loudly, it showed, ate, it showed. The list could go on and on.
What she was trying to get at is that it was a nuisance in her life now. Any new friends she spoke to were surprised by it, so she had to make up a whole new story as to why her teeth suddenly turned into fangs.
It made for some awkward conversations, but no one that she was close to questioned it anymore.
After that, her whole life changed which was probably to be expected since, you know, her whole body changed basically overnight.
