I sat on Shannon's couch and sobbed wondering why? Why did she say no? Wouldn't it be better to get married before the war just in case one of us does not make it? Obviously not. Shannon just sat on the chair opposite me and let me spill my heart to her. None of this made sense to me anymore, I thought that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. I sobbed until I couldn't breath but then I realized that crying won't do anything, I need to talk to Maddy. Shannon gave me one last hug and wished me luck, I then walked out the door and begun the short run to Maddy's.
