Izuku goes in to see if he's worthy of having a familiar and none of the creatures look at him, instead Izuku finds something more than a mere Familiar.
"Y-You... You came" She whispered in the same way her mother spoke. "You vanished..."
"Your mother had to block me from your Call to talk... I've yet to get your name"
Her cheek fur shifts to a pink hue in a blush.
"My name's Melina"
"That's a beautiful name Melina, my name is Izuku" I scratch at her chin, getting a small hiss of happiness from her.
After a few minutes of petting and otherwise giving Melina attention I feel a burst of Mana inside me, my Lock opened!
I've known what Mana felt like despite not having access to my personal pool since No Pain No Gain let's me absorb the Mana of attacks, I've absorbed a fair bit so I know the feeling of Mana intimately.
Closing my eyes, I enter my mindscape and view the third ball to appear...
And a fourth?
First I look at the smaller one, Bronze in colour, Flash Step is a White and No Pain No Gain is Gold.
Parallel Mind.
The ability to have the ability to split my attention between two seperate and completely random things and give as much attention to one as the other.
That's a D Rank Skill, simply because nobody sees a use for it.
I turn towards the biggest ball, almost three times that of the three combined.
It was Blue.
'What the hell is a Blue Skill?' I wonder, reaching towards it.
It's name fills my mind.
Magic Power Operation and Perception.
The Ability to perceive and manipulate the Mana in the air around oneself to create Spells and Enchantments.
Wait...
"Mana Power Operation and Perception?" I ask myself out loud in confusion.
"You got that Unique Skill?" The Queen asks.
"Yeah, unlocked just now... What does that mean?"
"Basically you can see Mana now, and you can manipulate and create spells from the Mana. Humans can't do this, they just use their Skills and maybe minor Physical Enhancement or healing with their Mana"
I stared blankly at her before feeling dizzy for a moment.
When it passed I could see fog flowing through the air around us.
All shades of colour, swirling around in a vortex around Melina and I, I reach out and dip my finger in one such flow. I can feel the icy cold yet warm feeling of Mana, is this my Unique Skill's Perception ability? The Mana thickens into string like strands not dissimilar to webbing, my Operation ability.
With a thought, I grab the Mana strings and try thinking of a ball of light.
