Double date

We were now in the middle of February, and the tigers will shortly be breeding season. They only mate for three to four days, and we were hoping that Ravi and Melati would be the ones to mate because they looked to have the most devotion for each other of all the tigers. So far, no luck. Mike appeared to be convinced that it would happen.

"She's not in season yet, but once she is, I guarantee he'll be all over Melati."

My collaboration with Dr. Sam has also increased significantly. Instead of only following the other vet techs, I was now able to help them; the other day, I was asked to help tranquillize one of the tigers so that he could have his annual checkup. It felt good to know I was settling into my role at the zoo. I was staying on top of my university work, and supposedly all of my teachers were satisfied with my progress.

I'm now preparing for a double date with Bindi and Chandler. During the Christmas break, Bindi remarked that the four of us should go on a double date. We finally found an evening when we could all be together. It was a Wednesday evening, and we had planned to meet at a really excellent fast-food restaurant. I was going to meet the three of them there. The hour journey was starting to irritate me, not just because it increased my gas mileage, but also because it made it more difficult for me and Robert to see each other; it's not like I can simply drop over after classes. Ava began to bother me about meeting Robert. She had no idea who he was or even what his name was.

"You're on your third date, and you're going on a double date with his sister; you're officially dating, but you won't even tell us his name."

It's not that I didn't tell anyone about my connection with Robert on purpose, but the Irwin's are such private people, and Ava enjoys sharing news with others. Robert and I agreed to keep our relationship quiet for the time being, until we were certain it would endure. I came a bit late, at 6:37 p.m. I saw three people waiting for me near the entrance. I swiftly get out of my car, taking care not to trip on my heels, and walk over to them.

"I'm sorry for being late; there was a lot of traffic, and I got caught up in it."

"Don't worry, we've only just arrived; by the way, you look amazing."

I glance down at my clothing, knowing that just the shoes and jacket are mine; the rest was given to me by Ava, who said, 'This dress looks better on you than it ever did on me.'
