-Somewhere in The New World-.

Wooyoung's hands shook so hard that the shovel in his hand trembled with him. As soon as Seonghwa asked what he had done, he simply turned to grab the shovel from the patio and started digging a hole next to the garden.

Control, rules, numbness, hatred, emptiness, selfishness, lies, surveillance, control, repression, selfishness, betrayal, and cruelty.

Control. Listen, obey, do, repeat.

He just kept digging.

Digging unstop to hide the nonexistent tears and keep his mind busy.

The group followed him, watching him dig, dig, dig, and dig into the soft dirt ground. Watching in confusion, horror, and pity as Wooyoung just kept digging.

His face held no emotion, and they all saw it. The blank stare, the straight lips, the calm eyebrows. It was like doing this type of work was second nature.

It was.

Control, rules, numbness, hatred, emptiness, selfishness, lies, surveillance, control, repression, selfishness, betrayal, and cruelty.

Control. Listen, obey, do, repeat.

You killed yet another, and now even your friends see you as a monster.

You killed an innocent again; you're nothing but a monster.

Wooyoung focused on the dirt spewing up with each inch he dug deeper into the ground, each centimeter mourning the loss of a good and kind soul. Yes, focusing on the dirt, the dirt that didn't judge him for murdering an innocent woman in cold blood to save himself. Dirt didn't judge.

So, he dug; he dug; he dug; he dug; dirt doesn't judge; he dug so hard his hands were bleeding onto the shovel's wooden pole. Blood, sweat, and grief dripped onto the dirt, fueling the flowers to bloom through sadness.

The Monster, 317.

Control, rules, numbness, hatred, emptiness, selfishness, lies, surveillance, control, repression, selfishness, betrayal, and cruelty.

Control. Listen, obey, do, repeat.

"Wooyoung."

It was Seonghwa. Seonghwa was the one to speak up, but Wooyoung didn't care. He tossed the shovel to the side, looking up at the group and their confused and tear-stained faces. Wooyoung didn't say anything; he just walked past the group toward Eda's cold, half-turned body. He bent down, looking at the blood dripping down her face and her peaceful expression.

It wasn't frozen with betrayal and fear like all the faces of death he saw before him in the past.

No, Eda was left with a smile and the joy of keeping her humanity intact before seeing her family again.

It was so...so different.

Wooyoung didn't say anything, just blinked and brushed her hair gently out of her face before grabbing her under her arms to pull her.
