[ instagram & real life! ]Today was the day. After weeks of worrying, calling family and friends. Today was Finally the day.
"Are you ready, Soph?" I asked my sister, "mhm." she said fixing her hair in the mirror. "You look nice." I said smiling at my sister.
"Thanks." she said with a sad smile. "are you hungry? I can make you something." I said smiling sadly at the girl.
"No thanks." she said walking to her vanity mirror. "Soph, you haven't eaten in 2 days. You have to eat something." I said.
"I just haven't hungry, okay?" she said looking at me with watery eyes.
"Okay." I sighed walking of of her room.
I felt sorry for the girl, I love my mother so, so much but, she really shouldn't have put that pressure on Sophia.
I remember when the day I found out, it was like there was no more oxygen, like couldn't breathe. And i can't imagine how my sister felt dealing with all that by her self.
"Hello? Im Hailey Jones, I got a—"
"—Hailey!" said a familiar voice, "Soph, oh my god! why didn't you answer my phone calls?" I said hugging the girl tightly.
"I'm sorry! my phone died on the way here." she said, I looked at the girl, she had red eyes and a red nose, it was obvious she has been crying.
"It's okay, Soph." I said trying to calm the girl down, "What happened? Where's mom?" I said desperately.
"I don't know, hails, they won't tell me anything" she said trough her cries, "Well—" I started before I was cut of by a nurse
"—Family of, Taylor Jones?" Said a nurse as she looked at the sheet.
"Yes?" I said eagerly. "Well we finally have news on your mother." she said sadly. "And?" I said scared of what she would respond with.
"I'm afraid that she's not going to get any better." she said looking me with a look of guilt.
My heart sank. "What?"
"We've tried everything, dear, i'm so sorry but there's nothing more we could do."
I nodded not knowing what to say, "Im sorry, I really wish I could do more but—"
"—Its okay, it's not your fault, thank you." I said trying my best not to cry.
The nurse nodded and smiled sadly as she walked away.
I need to be strong for Sophia, I can't let her see me cry. I thought.
"Hi, Hails." I Heard a familiar voice say.
"Oh Jenna, Hi" I said wiping my tears. "How are you?" She asked sitting next to me on my bed, "Good." I said clearing my avoiding eye contact.
"Hailey." She said making me look her. "You don't have to act like everything's fine. Don't hide you emotions just because your trying to be strong for Soph."
I clenched my jaw not knowing how to respond, "Hailey, you know you can't talk to me." she said putting her hand on my knee.
"I just," I said sighing, "I can't believe that she's gone, Jen." I said trying to hold back my tears but failed.
"I know, I know" She said rubbing my back as I laid my head on her chest, "I mean what am gonna do? I- I can't take of sophia all by my self!" I said sobbing.
"Hailey, you have us; Jack, Melissa, Ty, Mason, Jesse, Sofía, Your aunt, me. We're all here for Hails you won't be alone."
"Thank you."
"For what?" she asked in a confused tone, "For everything, You and Jack have helped me a lot, especially with Sophia" I said as I sniffled, "I promise tha—"
"—Don't worry about, Hailey." She said calmingly, "You don't owe me anything, okay?" she smiled.
"Okay."
"Are you girls ready? It's almost time." My aunt said as knocked on the door gently, "Yeah, we're ready"
"Okay, i'll meet you guys down stairs."
