Here's a little sneak peak of Jay's point of view. She wanted me to write Jay's prospective. It's not whole because a longer chapter of the story will come from his eyes soon enough. So wait for that :)Here was a thing that I really hated to admit.
I liked the chaos Song Ara had brought in my life. At least in the beginning. I enjoyed the thrill too much at first. I thought I could bring her back to her senses. I thought she was just playing around, and I could tame the darkness she held in herself, but I was wrong.
I underestimated the hatred she had collected over the years for the world.
I watched as Sunghoon switched the channels on the tv screen. Ara was sitting beside him, telling him how she had gone through all these theories around Enhypen's concept. They both were joking around, with him refusing to confirm or deny her conclusions.
"What is the purpose of having enhypen as friends? You can't even tell me the storyline!" She grumbled. Sunghoon laughed and she pushed him away playfully.
Then something happened, something that made me grip the table so tightly I was surprised my tendons didn't snap.
Ara stared up at him, and her lips curved into a sensual smile which was soft, warm, fucking angelic. I knew it was honest since I had grown to be habitual of her fakeness. To Sunghoon, she wasn't fake. Not anymore.Jay - Stay away from Sunghoon. You promised.
As soon as I hit send, I stared back at her as she got her phone and read the text. A smirk tilted her lips and scrunched her beautiful face, her stupid beautiful face that I couldn't stop dreaming of. I cleared my throat, attracting their attention. And, the expressions on her face switched in a second.
"Darling." Mocking. Song Ara was back. "Come. Sit here." She gestured me, but I hauled her up to her feet and said I was tired and wanted to go to my room. "Sunghoon, my boyfriend is being clingy again. I'll see you later." She gave him a high-five.
Ara greeted me with a hug. Sunghoon raised an eye. I just hoped her advances on him won't taint our friendship. I placed a palm on her cheek and kissed her. I kissed her so hard I was almost sure I was sucking her soul out in the process. "Hi." I pulled away, and smiled and took her to the room. Point made.
I had my arm around her waist as we walked down the hall, and no matter how much she elbowed him, I won’t budge. I only let her go when we entered the room. "Gotta keep the pretense of a loving boyfriend," I muttered.
I lied down in my safe space. Acting with Ara was exhausting sometimes. It wasn't a child play to pretend to be in love with someone when all you had done were arguments and manipulations. What bothered me the most was that my group members were involved in this ugly fight.
"What the fuck."
For the first time ever, she wasn't smiling or smirking or grinning. If anything, she appeared…a bit pissed off? "I was talking to Sunghoon and enjoying his company. Ah. You're actually tired. I thought you were protecting the precious penguin." Ara shook her head and lied beside me. "But again I have promised that he's safe now. I like him."
I didn't reply. Just closed my eyes and tried to relax. Sunghoon was safe. He had somehow generated sympathy and affection in Ara's heart. All thanks to Sunoo and Bora. I glanced at my fake girlfriend. Her eyes were closed and I wondered how come she trusted me to sleep this peacefully here when we had a bad blood between us.
My mind went back to her smiling at Sunghoon. The only real thing I had of Ara was her anger. Her glares were real. They were probably the most realistic thing about her, the way her thick brows scrunched and her skin reddened with pent-up anger. Without words, she had communicated that she hated having me around here. I was a hindrance to her plans. She hated my guts and my existence, basically.
Get in line. With other Enhypen haters.
My phone chimed. It was a text from Jungwon's girl. I had asked her again to give me something against Ara. Something powerful. Something I could use to end this charade for once and all.
Chayoung: Why are you asking? You want me to tell you her deepest, darkest secret so you can use it against her?
Jay: Come on. Don't be like that now.Chayoung : We might not like each other, but some things aren't in our hands. I do like her a little. I can't help you. Also all of her stuff is super protected. You can't just erase the data magically. Different copies must be saved somewhere else.
I grumbled under my breath. My fingers paused at the screen. It was a photo Sunghoon had clicked of us when Ara was pretending to tell me something about her favorite animated movies so we would look like a normal couple instead of a psychopath duo who were together for anything but love.
I threw the phone away and glanced at Ara who was fast asleep beside me. Her hair partially covered her face as she rested her head on my arm and her fingers splayed on my abdomen. With her long lashes fluttering on her cheeks, she appeared younger, vulnerable, nothing like the Ara I or Bora knew.
No. No. No.
I won't fall for this. I untangled myself and went out. Bora was in the living room on her computer. "Hi." She smiled and I returned it. "You look like you've a lot in your mind." I did. I told her my plan and she listened attentively. "Well. We can do it."
"This is the only way left." I nodded.
Bora looked at me hesitantly. "Oppa. Ara trust you. I know that but are you ready to break that trust?"
"She doesn't matter. I know why I got involved with her in the first place." My eyes stared into distance. "The foundation of our acquaintance is wrong, and nothing can make it right."
"Just a piece of advice," Bora said.
"Yeah?"
"Don’t fall in love with her."
I laughed. "That will never happen."
Bora smiled. "For your sake, I hope that's true."
