"Liam!"

"Yes sir."

"What do you mean we don't have to inform her family?"

My whole body was aching suddenly as I woke up from drowsy sleep. It felt like someone had hit my head with a hammer. And what was wrong with my arms? I couldn't get up. Even my eyes felt heavy. What happened? Did I drink myself to sleep? Was I hungover?

"The thing is..." Someone sighed. "Jay, ma'am will kill me if I tell you anything about her personal life." I recognized the voice. Liam. And he was talking to... Jay?

Wait a moment. Memories ran over my head. Birthday. Piano room. I fainted in his arms. Shit.

"I thought she was close to her mother?" Jay was saying. "Oh don't look at me like that. You said personal life, and her mother is her only family-"

"No. Her mother... Let's just say her step father and Kevin -"

I somehow stretched my arm and knocked off something from the table. My eyes fluttered open. Jay rushed to my side while Liam called for someone. I was in my hotel room. Thank God, they didn't take me to hospital. I hated those places. My head was heavy and vision still blurry.

"Are you alright?" Jay asked as he helped me sit. His tone was soft. It made me look up to make sure he was talking to me. "Do you remember what happened? You fainted in the piano room-"

"Why are you talking like that?" I pulled away from him.

"Like what?"

"Like... Kindly? I'm not used to it. People don't talk like that. To me. You don't talk like that." He looked at me strangely. I frowned. "What?"

Jay sat on the bed. His eyes studied me. "Ara. You have not slept for two days. Why?"

"I was working." I shrugged. "Wait. I fainted because of not sleeping enough? That's weird. Normally I can pull a half week without sleeping."

"You do realise that's not normal. Right?" He was talking softly, gently as if talking to a child. It made me uncomfortable. "Don't you have a life outside work?"

"I've plans. To ruin Bora. It's still on halt. I've business commitments." I glanced at IV attached to my wrist. "I'm feeling fine now. Let's take it out."

"You're not-" He held my arm. "-taking it out. You are very weak right now. Let it finish. Doctor suggested you to take rest for a week at least."

"Tell your doctor to shove this advice up in the ass-"

"Sorry. Can't do that." A voice entered the room. I recognized that face immediately. Sooyun. Jake was walking behind her. "How are you feeling?" She put on her stethoscope and started checking me. The back of her hand touched my forehead and that's when I realized the temperature difference. I was warm. "You don't have fever, but your body is exhausted. If you don't rest, it'll shut down sooner than later, and low BP can leads to coma. I'm sure you know that."

"You're no one to check up on me. You haven't even completed your degree," I snapped. She paused, looked at me and then Jake. Fuck. Now she would be curious how I knew that. Argh. "Listen -"

"No. It's alright. I didn't get to complete it because of my parents' scandal. Kind of feeling famous now." Sooyun shrugged. "But, just so you know if anything goes wrong with you then Jake is responsible. You're the first patient I treated officially."

My blood ran cold as my eyes widened. "You mean to say I was your experiment? Am I going to die?"

She shrugged. Jake grumbled. "No, Ara. You're not going to die. Sooyun has a lot of practice in the medical field. You're going to be fine-what are you doing?"
