Everything italicized in this chapter is directly from FizzyDizzy's analog horror file of the Inkblot Disease, except for I added as if it were in 3rd person Callie perspective. :]

The screen went blue, as if from a camera. Kari glanced at Viola. She looked mortified.

The screen turned back to black, and white text popped up on the screen. 'Unauthorized viewing of this tape is prohibited'

"THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SHOWING US THIS SHIT, YOU STUPID FUCKING TV?!" Viola yelled, standing and walking over to the tv.

The text changed.

'Case no. 713
Marie Cuttlefish
Video recording from device
"The Cuttle Zone"'

"What the..," Viola looked back at Kari. The octoling shrugged.

The text changed once again.

'Video unavailable. Audio only'

Viola growled and raised a fist. "Fuck this shi—"

"Marie, I'm home!"

Viola lowered her hand. "Callie-?..."

Kari stood. "Viola, whatever is happening, I think we should-"

"..Marie?"

"Let it talk." Viola sat on the coffee table her and Kari and Tina had played Jenga on. Kari sat with her.

"Hellooo?"

Silence.

"Huh... weird..." Callie muttered to herself. "She said she'd be home early tod—"

Callie cut herself off, spotting a small piece of paper on the counter.

"Oh, what's- what's this?..." She walked over to the piece of paper and read it out loud. "Go... to basement... Urgent. Marie."

Callie rolled her eyes. "Well, if it's that urgent..," She huffed. "I guess I'll go?..."

Static sounds filled the cephalopod's ears, startling Kari. Viola sat still.

Callie unlocked the basement door and went down two steps. "Marie..?" She called for her cousin. No response. "You down there?" She called again, closing the door.

She walked down the remaining steps. "Look, if this is your idea of a prank, it's not very funny," Callie took a step onto the cold mat of the basement, an uneasy feeling creeping up her spine.

"Marie, where are you?"

Silence. Except for, the faint sound of breathing could be heard.

"Marie, I don't s-"

"Cal..," A weak, motherly voice spoke above the loudness of the silence. "lie... behind you..."

Callie turned, her heart racing. "M...Marie?..."

Marie's voice shook. "Help... me..." She groaned as her cousin wavered to her.

"W-w... What happened?!" Callie asked, panic inching into her voice, her hands shaking. "Marie..."

Marie fell into Callie's arms. "Don't... look... up..."

Callie could've sworn Marie was lifeless when she looked up.

But moments later she was positive she was too.

Callie's blood curdling scream went through the tv, and Kari could have sworn that her apartment shook. The tv's screen turned to static, then booted down.

"Mother fucker..." Viola stood and raised a fist. "This stupid thing!!"

The sound of a tape being put into its slit sounded again. The sun turned itself back on, and everything went back to normal.

"Viola..," Kari looked at her friend. "Sit down... Please..."

As Viola sat down, the screen booted back up to the PSA. Instead of the pink background it had before, it now had a burned look, making it red. Soon after, black text read 'The Terminal Stage' appeared on the top of the screen, and the narrator read it out loud. "The terminal stage."

A black, gooey figure with ten eyes spread across its body appeared below the text.

"Ew..," Viola cringed. "To think someone as pretty as Tina could become that monster..."

"You think Tina's pretty?"

"Shut up."

"The patient has completely forgotten who they are."

Kari sat on the couch, soon followed by Viola.

"The cure is ineffective."

Viola wrapped an arm around the octoling.

"There is no use resisting."

"This isn't suspicious at all..," Kari glanced at Viola. The inkling was staring directly at the entity in the middle of the screen.

"They will not be put to sleep."

The black text disappeared.

The narrator's voice echoed.

"We will not be put to sleep."
"We will not be left to rot."
"We are inevitable."
"We are immortal."
"We are the hive."

"FUCK YOU," Viola stood and stomped over to the tv. "FUCK YOU AND YOUR STUPID HIVEMIND."

"Join the hive."

The voices echoing multiplied.

"Join the hive."

The static sound began, the red background became redder, and black text faded in. 'Join the hive'

"Join the hi"

"Precautionary vaccinations can be scheduled and received at your local pharmacist," The original pink background returned, and so did the eerily familiar music, and the oh so creepy female inkling model appeared along with a syringe pointing at its arm.

The inkling model became 4 models; Inkling girl, inkling boy, octoling girl, and octoling boy. "We hope this PSA was of use to you."

"Fuck you," Viola snarled.

"Be sure to use the information given to you when you go out in public," The cephalopod models disappeared, leaving the pink screen.

"I hate you," Viola clenched her hands in fists.

"And always remember to stay fre-"

Kari blinked and heard a loud crack. Without looking, she knew Viola had lost it; she had punched the tv.

"Thanks, Viola," Kari stood and placed a hand on the taller inkling's shoulder. "But now i have to pay 30 thousand gold for a new one."

"I don't fucking care," Viola was shaking. "I will kill every last one of those entities. Even if I end up like Callie and Marie for it."

"Viola, you need a cracker," Kari smiled. "Why don't I see if Tina's available, she can come back, you two can cuddle, I'll order pizza."

"That sounds nice."
