chan's graduation from high school finally came, on feburary third of 2017. (this is not the real date i believe)

only a small handful of them actually went to the ceremony with chan, or that's what he thought.

the other members were blending into the crowd, and despite their slowly growing popularity, no one recognized the disguised members of seventeen.

he knew that mingyu, seungkwan, and vernon were there with him, seeing them up in the balcony overlooking the auditorium where they were holding the ceremony for the debuted idols.

a small smile appeared on chan's lips, knowing that mingyu was definitely taking pictures of him to send to the other members. seungkwan probably held a camera for lord knows what reason, and a quick glance towards where he saw the members confirmed his suspicions.

mingyu waved at him, vernon grinning beside him. seungkwan fumbled slightly with the camera, chan could almost feel the lenses zoom in on him. now just how camera aware was he-?

time passed on as the teachers and staff spoke about having the honour of teaching the students, the crowd of both idols and regular students applauding respectfully at each speech, before it was finally time for them to go up and get their diplomas.

(tbh i strongly doubt this is how a graduation works (idk how one would function either) so this is what i imagine one to be like so we go with it)

one by one, students from the other classes went up, got their diploma, shook hands with the staff and went down.

as time proceeded, chan began to grow nervous, casting more glances that lingered at his hyungs, knowing they're watching and will cheer for him when it's his turn. every look at his members provided chan a bit of comfort and courage for his turn.

it's been a while since a stage has felt daunting to chan. the last time being their first comeback preformed on a music show.

"lee chan" he heard his name being called, so he prepared himself slightly, standing up and heading to the stage. he could feel the eyes of everyone in the room focus on him, along with several cameras, inclusive of seungkwan's and probably mingyu's. vernon's probably just watching him with a proud look in his eyes.

he smoothed out his uniform as best as possible as he climbed the stairs up to the stage, only looking ahead and making sure he didn't trip over his own two feet.

he stood in front of the person who was giving the certificates, the man reading out what was written on his graduation certificate and the closing the book like award thing, passing it to chan with a bow. chan bowed in return, taking the item in his hand.

the other stuck his hand out, offering a handshake to chan for formalities as camera shutters went off, chan smiling widely for the cameras. idol privileges or something.

he moved to the next teacher, his homeroom teacher he barely knew since he only actually came in for classes every once in a blue moon, the woman only smiling and congratulating him for completing the course with wonderful grades even with his busy schedule. chan thanked her gratefully with a smile, receiving the small bouquet of flowers all the students got.

more camera flashes went off, the shutters sounding throughout the auditorium.

he scanned the crowd quickly, waving at some of the cameras he knew were recording him before he bowed towards the crowd once more and made his way to the edge of the stage. he stepped down the steps, a bouquet of flowers appearing in front of him.

ironically, the person who was handing him the flowers had their face obstructed by the floral arrangement, essentially hiding themselves from chan.

at first, chan tried to side step the person holding the flowers, assuming that it wasn't for him, but every time he tried to move away, the flowers kept following him, so he gave up and finally accepted the bunch. "thank you-" chan stopped his own words, noticing that whoever gave him the flowers was already gone into the crowd.
