Chapter 11 - Battle Scarred

A couple days pass...

Y/N's POV

My rehabilitation process has begun, seeing the worry on the face of my friends and fellow agents concerned me at first but I've never been so motivated to get back out in the field. Day 1, I could barely get my breathing under control doing simple exercises, It hurt to breathe and always resulted in me hyperventilating. Day 2, the healing had taken effect and I could breathe normally but my chest, ribs and left arm were still in a bad condition, nonetheless I worked through the pain scraping through the day little by little. Now day 3 comes to pass and I'm still feeling the same way I was yesterday, guess broken bones and some internal bleeding is gonna put me down for a couple more days until the treatment I'm getting is fully done. I was laying down in my room when I heard a knock at the door.

???: "Y/N, can we come in?"

Y/N: "Sure. Go for it"

The door swung open with Genji and Lena walked in

Genji: "What's new in the world?"

Y/N: "Not much, some bones are still mending and I've still got a little bit of internal damage so do be easy on me"

Lena: "Well you're making progress at least, that's what counts"

Y/N: "Yeah I guess so. So what did you guys want to talk about?"

Genji: "I have personal matters, giving you the details to the trip we planned and checking to see if you're on track to keeping up with them"

Lena: "And I came to make sure you're doing well, also to let you know that Brigitte is worrying about you but is also keeping up with her training more motivated than I've seen her in years"

Y/N: "Lena, do you mind if I talk with Genji about his matter for a little bit?"

Lena understandingly nods and walks out to the hallway closing the door behind her

Y/N: "So what's the info?"

Genji: "I plan to give you time to heal, we can leave a couple days after you're done fully healing"

Y/N: "That sounds good to me, where is it we are actually going?"

Genji: "You'll have to wait until we get there, not much fun if you know exactly where we are going"

Y/N: "Fair enough, keep me in touch"

Genji then nods, salutes to you and slips out the window disappearing into the night of Gibraltar

Y/N: "Lena! You can come back now"

Lena walks back in but is accompanied but someone else now, It's Cole Cassidy

Cole: "Heard you gave Reyes a fight, not bad for a rookie"

Y/N: "Cant say I'm that good, Still took a beating for it"

Cole: "Its not everyday someone can say they've come face to face with death himself, good job kid, you lived to tell the tale"

Lena: "Cole! He almost died, for a second time!"

Cole: "Cut me some slack, he could've been worse off being alive"

Cole then looks at his left arm

Cole: "Trust me kid, sometimes you ain't so lucky"

Y/N: "I'm just happy to be alive, wouldn't want to leave all of you behind"

Lena: "Glad to hear that, well I guess we can leave you be now"

Y/N: "Up to you, you can do what you want"
