CHAPTER 1- PARTNER

the first day of third year for y/n had started. she have always looked forward to this day as teyvat high had a special project called "marriage training project." for the third years.

the principals and the higher ups decided on it as it is better for them to blend in the society as they grow as they already have experience for a relationship. or a
marriage.

y/n had always dreamed about living with someone with the same interest so that they could do all the things she like together. her ideal partner is someone with the same interest, same ideals and the similar personality. she wouldn't want to be together with someone who shares nothing similar with her. the thought of that made her want to drop out immediately. but that is obviously not possible.

whispers and murmurings could be heard the moment she stepped into the school grounds. to be honest, she was used to it, being the center of the topic wherever she is.

y/n is a prodigy, she was able to ace anything she does. be it hobbies, clubs or even academics. she always aced everything to the point that she got bored.

she started acting like a delinquent, breaking school rules, hanging out with people much older than her. dressing up and talking way too mature for her age.

the drastic change in her shocked many people, many drifted from her as they deemed her as a bad influence. many despised her type of people. they called them "whores" just because the way they dressed.

but they have forgotten that y/n is the top of teyvat high, she is at a level that no ordinary people will be able to reach.

"hey y/n, aren't you excited about the upcoming project for us? you were screaming about this weeks ago and now you're so quiet."  nilou sipped on her cup of coffee as she stared at the girl with starry eyes. she is one of y/n's few close friends, the only one who has stayed by her side and defended her no matter what.

"don't even talk about it man. i heard it from the teachers that we will be paired according to our grades. this means that i will be paired with either a bloody nerd or someone who doesnt even care about studies." y/n sighed as she rested her chin on her palm.

"you would rather be paired with a delinquent dont you? i mean, nerds are boring as hell and you probably wouldnt want that." ningguang carried on while scrolling through her phone. not even caring to look up.

"trueeeee, but being with someone that only thinks about fighting, skipping or breaking the rule is quite awful isnt it? i want to be with someone that could bring me excitement and not someone who will pull me down." the girl sighed again.

she started imagining the situation she'll be in if she is paired with a delinquent. the thought of the scene where he uses the cringe pick up line made her shrug off the idea immediately.

"i rather be paired with a nerd i guess, maybe i can have some alone time to spend with you guys." y/n cheered as she stood up and tidy up her messy uniform and started heading back to class.

"mmm who knows that the nerd might be interesting too." beidou soon followed as she catches up with the trio, clinging on to y/n's arm as they walked back to their classes together.

on the way back to class, the four girls have received alot of admiring glances. due to them being the female delinquents in the school and also having a resting bitch face at the same time, most students admire them but at the same time, theyre scaed of them.

but their views didnt really affect the girls, their presence are meant to be admired. they are all an academic achiever in many ways. especially y/n. she's a all rounder acheiver. her academic placing was placed above hundreds of people and only under one.

the student council president, also the top student of teyvat high, CYNO.

"goodmorning class, we have come to the third and final year of your highschool journey, in this year, all of you will be paired with a opposite gender and you will have to live with them in the dorms the school had arranged for you. you will not be able to choose your pairings. instead, the school system have already paired you up. please take a look at the screen and find for your name. further notice will be shared to you all via the school's notice board." y/n's homeroom teacher shared while she stood aside, letting the students look at the screen without getting blocked.

y/n squinted her eyes as she looked for her name in the list. it was rather difficult to look for a name in such a long list but nontheless, she susscessfully found her name. but she soon saw the name she was paired with which left her shocked.

"NO WAY. IS THAT Y/N PAIRED WITH CYNO." someone shouted which earned the attention of the other students.

"WHAT?! NO WAY. THAT WHORE BETTER DONT TOUCH MY CYNO."

you do realise that we're in the same class right.. and i can hear what you said loud and clear. y/n sweatdropped

"ARE WE GETTING A ACADEMIC RIVALS TO LOVERS TROUPE?!" someone else screamed which made y/n scowl.

she then looked to cyno's direction, he is still handling paper works for his student council as always. the girl couldnt help but think how boring it would be to live with such person.
