My best friend, he always stands by my side,
He cares for me and promised to never leave me
I love him so much, a bit more than a friend...
I always try to hide,
But then he comes to me, rescues me, and lets me feel safe and free!
A friendship, hopefully a relationship... that will never end.
But he always runs away when they make me take my meds...
Why, oh why, oh please come back!
A few days later he returns with a hug,
And tells me, he promises me, he'll make it up as he tucks me into bed.
He sings me to sleep as an activity my parents made me lack,
And makes sure I'm happy before running away from the place I'm snug.
I wake up the next morning, I'm still in my room,
And he comes back right as I'm awake and lifts me to my feet.
But the nurse walked in and forced my meds down my throat,
Please don't go, come give me another hug, make me feel at home!
The nurse said this medicine is more effective and it's just a basic need.
New... psychosis treatment meds, on her little board she wrote,
Oh, my dearest friend, what is psychosis?
Well, maybe my friend will be back and he'll explain to me what I saw...
But I never saw my friend after that day,
And I also heard the word, "diagnosis".
And I no longer see a nice bedroom, just a white padded room where I feel so sad and raw...
Oh please come back, my dearest best friend...
Save me from the madness and let me have another hug!
I don't know how to get you back or how to untie myself from the straps,
But I will try, and I will do it, my friend!
I will get you back, and we will be friends until the very end!
