A/n: I do not own The Sandlot or any characters and pictures used! I only own Allison Mertle!

We walked around the neighborhood looked at the stars and making small talk till Benny asked,
"So what happens to your parents." I stoped and looked down.
"Well they were on their way from the store a-and, well, they, they got into a-" tears stung my eyes and I couldn't stop them.
Benny walked up to me and enveloped me in a hug and that's when I broke down crying in Bennys arms. He rubbed my back and whispered sweet nothingness into my ear.
Once I had finished crying Benny held my hand as we walked in comfortable silence. We made it to my house and I walked up to the door Benny looked at me with such fear in his eyes it was hilarious.
"Al., what do you think you're doing you're going to get killed."
"I think I should explain something." I said my mood greatly improved.
"So, I live with my grandpa."I dragged.
"Mr. Mertle!" He yelled and I shushed him.
"Yes and 'The Beast' is actually named Hercules and he's very sweet." I said doing air quotes around The Beast.
"Anyways I should probably go. Oh and don't tell the gang about it I like the drama."
Benny laughed at that. I walked up to him gave him a kiss on the cheek and left for the house. When I got inside I peeked out the window to see Benny standing there with his hand in the cheek I kissed. I smiled and got ready for bed.
The next day Benny was up to bat and when he hit the ball it busted and Smalls caught the insides of the ball. We all gathered around the skin of the ball.
"Benny man that bitchin'" Bertram said.
"Bitchin'" Yeah-Yeah said.
"Nah it ain't 'cus now we can't play no more." "Yeah we can." Smalls said.
"What you got an extra 98¢ layin' 'round?" I sassed.
"Nah, but I got a ball."
"Go get it!" We all yelled.
A few minutes later he came running back.
"I got the ball you guys!"
"Bitchin'. Your ball your ups." Benny said handing him the bat.
After his first strike he hit the ball making it over my fence.
"Yeah way to go Smalls!" Benny yelled as I laughed. The boys all praised him for the home run but he went straight to the fence.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no!" He repeated.
"What's he doing?" Bertram asked
"We gotta get that ball back." "
"We can't Smalls it's gone we'll get another one tomorrow."
"No you don't understand that wasn't my ball!" "What do you mean it wasn't your ball?" I asked. "It was my stepdad's I stole it from his trophy room." Smalls said.
"Smalls this is a matter of life and death where did your old man get that ball?" Squints asked. "Uh I don't know some lady gave it to him, uh Ruthie, Baby Ruthie?" "BABE RUTH?!" We all yelled.
