AN HOUR HAD PASSED, and although the pain seemed less intense, Sunghoon was still in a bad condition. Even so, the protagonist had found a solution that would alleviate the pain temporarily.

She had collected ice cubes from the cafeteria kitchen and slid them over his body. The cold's contacts against the burns anesthetized the suffering for a few seconds.

To maximize healing, Nana had been doing this for an hour, without stopping, never tiring. After some minutes, the boy had straightened up and motioned to stop.

"...I think it's getting better."

"Are you sure?"

She looked at him as she put the ice cubes away in a plastic bag. He nodded then put his shirt back on, her cheeks heating up again.

For fear of hurting him again, she had risen from the bench and was standing several meters in front of him. The ghost couldn't help laughing.

"It's all right. We'll be fine if we don't touch each other again."

Nana swallowed and walked timidly toward him. She settled down at the end of the bench and didn't even dare look at him.

"I'm sorry. I'll ask Rachel for an explanation, maybe she'll offer something to help you."

"Yeah, let's do that."
He smiled.

The young man was a little weaker than usual but seemed to be getting better. Nana was reassured, but very soon a heavy silence covered the gymnasium; neither of them had decided to talk again.

Perhaps they were embarrassed or traumatized by the events that had taken place earlier.

Because of Sunghoon's agony, the two hadn't had a chance to talk about this mystery again: that person in front of his old locker. It was frightening and unexpected.
