CONVINCING HER FRIEND to come the next day for detention was the most complicated thing of all. When Heeseung discovered the threatening note in his locker, he had a panic attack in class.
Mr. Lee was worried and sent him home, even offering to reschedule the detention. That was out of the question for Nana, who had to fight back and face up to the culprit's stupid threats.
The message was clear enough. It referred to the link between her and Heeseung. The killer must have seen a new obstacle in him. Nana was furious, but that was the price she had to pay when she had someone to rely on.
By some miracle or good argument, the heroine managed to get Heeseung in detention Saturday morning.
She was determined to use this hour of detention to work out several hypotheses about the killer and prepare a stratagem to stop them.
The teacher who had to supervise them wasn't too happy about coming in on a Saturday morning either. So he left the students in a small classroom and went off for a coffee.
It was a risky move, but Sunghoon eventually joined them and the detention turned into a detective club.
"You're okay, buddy?"
The skater tried to strike up a conversation with Heeseung, who had been motionless in his chair for at least 15 minutes. Nana looked at him and shook her head, urging to leave him alone for a while.
"It's not every day that a murderer still on the loose threatens you with little pieces of paper."
"Right." He flattened his hands on the table, "So... I think we should make a suspect list to get started."
"Too long. It could be anyone, that's the main issue."
"However, some of the killer's most distinctive features have been identified."
