It's been a few days and I haven't heard anything from Isabella.

Wow, she must really be mad at me.

I felt bad that my daughter couldn't see her best friend, but I decided to make it up to her and take her out for some lunch. Maybe that'll make Leni feel better.

Bill was at work, and even though Leni had school today, I called her in and said she wouldn't be coming in today.

"We can have a girls day." I suggest to Leni.

"That sounds fun." Leni said bluntly.

I frown slightly before giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"You'll see him tomorrow. It's okay, sweetheart."

I take her hand and lead her out to the car and close the door behind her as she gets in the backseat.

Leni's favorite place to eat at was McDonald's, and since it was still breakfast time, it would be perfect to eat a good breakfast together.

When I pulled into the parking lot, I unbuckle myself as Leni gets out the car and holds my hand. We walk inside and order hot cakes with eggs.

"Does pancakes sound good to you, babes?" I ask Leni as she scans the menu.

"Yes, that sounds yummy."

I giggle and pay for the food. The man at the front gives me a order number as me and Leni wait at the table.

Leni was starting to cheer up, and I was happy she was enjoying herself out of the house.

Our food shortly came after and I thanked the man who brought it to us.

Two plates of hot cakes and eggs were on our trays, and everything looked so good. We each got two syrup packets and I helped Leni pouring syrup on hers.

I ask how school is going and if she's learning anything new.

Having a mother-daughter conversation was something I've always wanted to do, and I was happy to hear about what was going on Leni's life while she was at school.

We spend the next half hour there, and we threw our trash out before walking out the fast food restaurant and into our cars.

"Hmm, I'm in the mood for dessert. How about you, babes?" I ask Leni through the mirror in the car.

I could see the joy written all over her face. She claps her hands together.

"I love that idea!"

I giggle at Leni's reaction.

"What are we in the mood for?" I ask as I pull out of the parking lot.

"Milkshakes?" Leni suggested.

"A milkshake sounds good right now. Let's do it."

I drive to Smoothie King which wasn't far from McDonald's at all. I take Leni's hand as the two of us walk inside.

Leni orders a medium while I get a medium size as well.

"What do you want to get?" I ask as I pick her up so she could look at all the flavors on the menu.

"Hmm, the banana smoothie one." Leni pointed out. I set her down and scan through the menu as well.

The mango one looks so good.

"Can I get a medium banana smoothie, please?"
I told the woman at the register. She punches in a few things before looking back up at me.

"Anything else for you, ma'am?"
