(3) The deaf roommate

Finn woke up that morning to an empty apartment "Where did this girl go early in the morning?" he asked checking his watch but then his attention turned to the door "I was wondering where you were" he offered Meriel a smile but she didn't appear to have heard him.

Meriel had woken up extra early today for work usually she didn't take the early morning shifts at the coffee shop instead it was always later but the girl had an interview to get to today.

Finn furrowed his brows at not receiving any response from Meriel "Hey... uh..." Finn paused trying to think of the girl's name before cursing himself for not asking her name ok calm down Finn think of the most common names... he thought about common popular names.

 "Hina" 

"Yua"

"Misaki"

"Ichika"

Meriel who was unaware of her roommate trying to grab her attention still had her interviewer's answer running through her mind while moving through the house and then walking into her room to change "Bad place Dragneel" Finn did a U-turn stopping himself from walking into Meriel's room "ok Finn think what could it be? Hmm?" he cupped pursed his lips tapping it with his pointer finger.

"Sakura" Finn tried again once Meriel returned from her room.

"Kari" 

"Sara"

"Yui"

Meriel carefully put on her hearing aids but flinched "Mio!" was the first thing she heard come out of her roommate's mouth which earned her attention as she looked back at Finn with wide eyes before quickly looking him and down crazy boy... she shook her head at him while thinking that.

Aha, So that's your name Mio The pink-haired boy thought to himself nodding proudly to himself.

"Hey! Mio!" he said as the bluenette looked at him confused "Are you calling me?" she pointed at herself as Finn nodded "Who told you that my name is Mio?" she placed her hands on her hips "You responded to the name" the pinkette answered.

"what? why are you laughing?" He asked looking at her in confusion "If we are going to be roommates Finn Dragneel then you have to know my name" Meriel stopped her fits of laughter "My name is Meriel Eucliffe" she introduced oh now he felt stupid "Heh... thanks" his face turned red his roommate only shook her head fondly.

This continued for a couple more days at first Finn thought that Meriel was ignoring him intentionally but now he was starting to become suspicious "Meriel..." he tested when his roommate came back from work and as he expected he got no response.
